This is our first electric guitar build, made in our garage in Salamanca, Spain.
We started the project on July 1, 2021 and finished it at the end of August.
The body is swamp ash, the neck is maple and the fingerboard is ebony.
I hope you enjoy the video. :)

Some kind of magic. I am looking at the guitar making process with great interest. I made my first and only guitar back in 1969, a soundboard made of 3 glued plywood sheets, a neck made of beech, frets made of copper strips, and pickups made of headphones. She was playing, but the sound was disgusting. But it was normal for the boys. Good luck and creative success to you.

Great video! I build guitars (telecaster clones) as a serious hobby. I have the bodies and necks done by a guy with a CNC milling machine and do the rest by hand. It was quite satisfying to watch you do this build. Great sounding guitar! Thanks for the video!

Just the encouragement I needed. I've been dying to build a Telecaster guitar for a long time now because I just can't find one, or any other guitar for that matter, with a 23 inch scale (I have small hands). I've built other guitars, but always purchased a pre-built neck because the task seemed so daunting. While it does seem to require precision, at least now I know it can be done competently by a woodworker who's not a pro luthier.

I loved the guitar, I’ve been trying to make my own telecaster for ages and you’re gave me inspiration again. Good job with it, looks amazing and sounds it too. If you have any advice, I’d love to hear it as this would be my first guitar. I was wondering if you could send me a few parts and tell me how much it costs. I’m 13 and if I present my parents with a well thought out idea, it’ll be easier to convince them.

Hi!! Thanks for your comment!! Be patient, don't try to move too fast and start with an easy model (a telecaster is perfect). I don't know where you live, but Madinter.com is a great option to buy the material. It is true that the neck is a delicate and difficult part, especially the joint with the body, but if you do not want to buy the neck already made, I recommend that you at least buy the fretboard with the frets already cut to facilitate that delicate step.

It really bothers me when I watch these home built from scratch guitar videos and their is so much care and attention to detail put in, then at the end they don't sand and buff the finish! "Hey Dan, I like your guitar are you gonna sand it?" "Nah, I like orange peel."
@victorbernaldaniel
@victorbernaldaniel 2 жыл бұрын
Hello! We spent a lot of time sanding, believe me. But in this case I wanted a natural finish and not completely cover it with nitro or polyurethane to leave it completely smooth. But maybe one day I'll get tired and sand it down completely and do a different finish, who knows. But this is our first guitar, but not the last one for sure :)

Just a helpful comment. This is not a Telecaster. Only Fender can build a Telecaster. As a video title, it is incorrect. It is a Telecaster style, or T-style guitar. Calling it a Telecaster is not good and incorrect on many levels. Younger generations may be unaware of this truth. People whom english is not their mother tongue may not be aware of this essential distinction as well. Great guitar Victor, just not a Telecaster.
@someonequinof
@someonequinof 3 ай бұрын
guitar purists trying to justify not calling a telecaster a telecaster just because it isn't made by fender... Who cares man? It's a telecaster, it's also a T-Style guitar. So are fender and squier telecasters, they are teles and t-style guitars. It's just a name, why do you care so much?
@forestyogin2218
@forestyogin2218 3 ай бұрын
@@someonequinof Well . . . why is it that this is convention to call a Fender a Fender, and that a Telecaster style guitar clone is qualified as a "T-style" or "Tele style". This has nothing to do with me. I would put the question to YOU as to why someone would want to call a non Fender Telecaster a "Fender Telecaster" ??? All reasonable builders abide by this convention. Nothing to do with me there dude. Younger builders who are not aware of, or do not respect, such a convention need a little heads up thats all. And like you, yes they may reply defensively with their ego. I ran that risk. THIS IS TO "HELP THEM", NOT TO "MESS THEM UP". Otherwise you are stealing reputation, or not being truthful (in these post-truth times). Not to mention the Intellectual Property etc. A nuance that for whatever reason, this guy was not aware of. I say this without judgement. We were all unaware in the early part of our lives. But you see, there is very unfortunate karma for not abiding by this convention. Or do you ?
@someonequinof
@someonequinof 3 ай бұрын
@@forestyogin2218 I never said "Fender Telecaster", I only said telecaster. Fender is a brand, a "telecaster" is just a type of guitar, which was originally made by fender. There is no misleading in this video, it says custom hand made telecaster, not "fender" telecaster, just telecaster. I guess you could say that "telecaster" always refers to a fender but that's not true. If I see a t-style guitar in an ad or in the thumbnail of a youtube video my first thought is always "that's a tele" or "that's a telecaster" (Even if it's not fender-made). Saying that t-style guitars made by fender are the only ones that can be called telecaster is so snobbish and just stupid. The only reason other brands call their teles "t-style" is due to copyright and trademarks, nothing else. If I made a partscaster build that was "t-style" and I put a fender logo on it, I'm telling people it's a custom telecaster I built. And I guarantee you that if Fender didn't have a trademark over their guitar names, every single tele, strat, jazzmaster, and jaguar clone would have the Fender name.
@forestyogin2218
@forestyogin2218 3 ай бұрын
You are missing my entire point. A "TELECASTER" IS ONLY A FENDER ! PERIOD. "Fender" , "Telecaster" . . . the same. Telecaster is NOT "just a type of guitar", it is strictly a Fender. It was the first with this design. It invented this design, and has copyrighted the name "Telecaster" . Why is that ? The other names are not Fenders. This is just not sinking in, so let's agree to disagree. And go ask other builders if you are brave enough. Good luck and take care.
@someonequinof
@someonequinof 3 ай бұрын
@@forestyogin2218 If you say a "fender" and a "telecaster" are the same, that also implies strats, jazzmasters, jaguars, etc. are also telecasters. You could've chosen better words for it. And yes, a telecaster is just a type of guitar, which can also be called a t-style, or a tele. You are just a guitar snob, that's sad. Just because it doesn't say "fender" doesn't mean the guitar is any less worthy of being called a good guitar or even being called a telecaster when in fact it is a good guitar and a telecaster (or "t-style"). Just because Leo Fender invented the telecaster doesn't mean it's clones aren't teles, the style design of the telecaster is called telecaster, not the brand itself. So when other companies use the design, it's still a damn telecaster, even if they legally can't say that. Let's give you an example, Karl Benz was one of the people who pioneered the invention of cars and can be considered the inventor of them. Does that mean that any other car who isn't made by his company is not a car? A car is just a a four-wheeled road vehicle that is powered by an engine and is able to carry a small number of people. A telecaster is just an electric guitar that has the t-style design. Now, if you want to continue being a snob and a purist, go for it. Live a sad life with your sad close minded brain. In the other hand, you can learn to stop being a snob and stop getting mad at people who call their non-fender telecasters, TELECASTERS. It's just a name, why are you taking this so seriously?
