HYDROSEEDING: hi-dro-seeding (verb) The process of combining seed, mulch, fertilizer, and healthy soil amendments with water to mix in a Hydroseeder® tank to form a thick slurry. Jr Rowell It is a sand cap they used. It was all trucked in from the Annapolis Valley here in Nova Scotia. I was told it cost about a million dollars for the sand they used.

Hannes ferruccio Thank you. They are planting grass with a hydro seeding machine in the video at 11:15. The blue stuff is mulch that is mixed with the seed to hold it in place and helps it germinate the grass seed.

The course in this video (Links at Brunello, Canada, 2014, by Tom MacBroom) was assumed to cost an average American course: 14 million dollars. (No idea what the true cost came out as, but I can only assume at least 10 million is the answer, and no more than 15 million.) (1) A high-end 18-hole Golf course costs around 10 to 15 million dollars to build and requires a massive amount of land, and typically uses one of the major course designers in America or Scotland today (it can be made anywhere, though, depending on the creator and style). It tends to be shaped to natural land these days, but a few decades ago, courses were made out of nothing and still are today, which adds quite a few million to the total cost. For example, the Sin City course out in the desert was made from nothing on very flat, wasteland terrain, and cost around 40 million dollars. The cost heavily depends on many factors. For example, the Shadow Creek (1989) course cost 60 million dollars to build, and was one of the most expensive public clubs in the world, and it was designed by the great Tom Fazio, who was one of the major Golf course creators of the 1980s and 1990s, and helped bring back a more natural yet difficult course design. (2) Smaller courses without the very best quality (maintenance is the main thing, along with the location, club, and design), and more natural rough, etc.; thus, not requiring as much work, would most likely cost you anywhere from 5 to 10 million, and that's for total costs, along with other factors. (3) For the average American course in and of itself, it's more along the lines of 2 to 4 million. (4) If you already own land (farmer or have a farmer friend or can buy cheap land, etc.), and if you can lower other costs without lessening the quality, more so if the course is 9-holes or fewer instead of 18, and natural, then you can most likely do it for 1 million or 500,000 dollars for total costs, or 2 million at most. My assumption is that for all costs for a complete course, club, and so on (assuming it's a country club course or something), you would always be looking at 2 million or above. (5) The lowest cost of an 18-hole course would be around 500,000 dollars for the course itself. Of course, for a small course attached to your house or land, for example, just for personal use, (3 to 9-hole course), you would be looking at 150,000 to 500,000 dollars. I assume you can make a small course for personal use under 150,000, but that would require a lot of pieces falling into place, and the quality wouldn't be that great, and there is no way it would be a high-end 18-hole course at that price, so I would always assume more along the lines of 200,000 to 400,000 in total, and for your own club, etc., with a small course, even on cheap land/more natural course, the cost would be more along the lines of 1 million. Though, the lowest possible cost I can think in reality of would be 200,000 dollars because you can build an entire house for 200,000 to 500,000, and the raw costs of reshaping land, getting a good designer, and other costs innate to any large job like this to any kind of standard, with all these workers and sand and dirt, etc. being bought and placed and shaped, along with buying land to begin with (massive amount of land required for 18-hole course, after all), would be in the range of 70,000 to 150,000 dollars if not much higher depending on many factors. You should always assume more money, to be on the safe side, though. So, the simple answer for all possible options is 200,000 dollars to 15 million dollars, with an assumption of 300,000 dollars to 5 million dollars in reality for the average and covering most options. That means it ranges from 'fairly cheap' to 'extremely costly'. I mean, people buy 300,000-dollar houses or cars all the time, after all, so if you really want a Golf course, then 300,000 isn't too bad, or more along the lines of 1 million for a good one and a club, etc., which still isn't too bad in America. The cost is roughly the same for every other country, though the best countries for golf courses and costs of such, and large amounts of cheap land, too, would be America, Canada, England, Ireland, and Scotland. I always used a Kubota L3450 tractor (back before the hydrostats came out) to run the viking and a John Deere trap rake to fine finish the greens and tees. I don't know about nowadays but back in the day Kubota tractors were great for this type of work. Besides hydralic hoses leaking and bursting every now and then, I never had or seen anyone else have much of any issues with them.
