Most foals get diarrhea a few days after they're born because of their mamas coming into foal heat. Generally 2-5 days after. I start giving my mares probiotics in feed right after baby is born and that usually prevents foal diarrhea. I quit giving them after the first two weeks. I hope this helps you with future foals. That said, it's always the right call to err on side of caution and get the vet. ❤
