Hazel I was born in Honduras raised in New Jersey. I have always missed the tropical island lifestyle. Recently I went to the Philippines to meet my girlfriend family. They are from Cagayan De Oro. You can imaging how jet lagged I was. My girlfriend and I decided to go for 3 days to Siargao. To be honest 3 day wasn’t enough. Siargao is so magical I had zero anxiety from the busy life style in NJ and NY. I can also see myself retiring there. I have never cried so hard on the airplane returning back home. My girlfriend and I love this place. I can’t wait to return next year possibly look for land. Thank you for sharing such video. Simply beautiful

This video is very helpful to me. We just found the house that we would like to buy in Dapa just for vacation and maybe rental if we dont use it. Im also planning to buy a small lot in caridad and plan to build a small house for Airbnb. I have the same concern about building a house when im not there and the material costs as it is in the Island. This really helps me with my decisions in the future. Normally, architects can give you a complete build up list on the materials that’s needed.

Been back for the first time in the Phil was Dec2015 and was able to see Palawan and went back to the Phil in different islands and saw Siargao only Jan 2020 which is unfortunate since I was not able return since it’s Pandemic . I’ve just retired and interested in going to the Phil and spend time in different islands two weeks or a month in each island at a time . So far, Siargao , Siquijor , Busuanga and Panglao are my favorite so far. Boracay is beautiful but just too touristy for me. I would like to stay in your place for month with my family, wifey, dauther and my son. Wonder if you can share more info on floor size, and lot size of your place.

We are moving to Siargao island and have heard this story on so many occasions. We have decided to do a typhoon proof prefab housing concept where they bring their own labour and supplies. I would like to know how y actually found the water supply ? Certain areas of the island has more water than other areas...have you found a contractor that does a bore how for water supply ?

I’m also a Filipino based in Singapore and thinking of buying land in Siargao! Would love to know about your costing and process of buying! How did you find the land, lawyer, and architect in Siargao? What was the timeline like from end to end? I might go to siargao again in October to look at some prospects.
