I love this podcast style/Minecraft let's play, it's very relaxing. I had this video on in the background and i wasn't actually watching it for the most part. But just the way you talk still makes the video so enjoyable. You truly are something special ❤️❤️

I think another problem with the whole aesthetic versus useful argument is that it sort of implies that useful blocks are less aesthetic. A ton of blocks that are mostly aesthetic have small uses just to make them more cohesive with the game, plus, I think a lot of the reason of wanting the Torchflower to glow is that it IS aesthetically pleasing, pretty lights is the reasoning behind like 6 blocks’ existence

EDIT: finished the video-I am indeed not tripping Am I tripping or did you build the overworld nether fortress a few years ago? if Im not tripping its cool to see you cycle back and work on stuff like that. its always cool enhancing projects. and If I am tripping I should probably retie my shoelaces.

My late husband and I both had to get our first marriages annulled in the Catholic Church in order to marry eachother, as we were both dedicated Catholics and so wouldn’t, for example, do what my ex had already done and just marry outside the Church. The process reminded me of what you describe here. It wasn’t expensive, but involved filling out a couple packets of forms, then contacting our exes, our parents, our exes’ parents, AND four additional people willing to fill out the same highly invasive questionnaires regarding our prior marriages. Definitely something requiring a very high demonstration of commitment to eachother, or to an asylum. Maybe both… 😵‍💫

Good update, Although after months of hearing you talk about Ice Cream cake and thinking Yummy, I was rather disappointed to find out it is just a more complex Arctic Roll. I'm really hoping this won't be your reality, but in my imagination it was cake shaped and the sponge cake was replaced by Ice- cream (but reflecting on that now I realise i may just have envy over my children's dessert options in some restaurants).

I do think that building is a valid use for a block. However, I also think that if a block is purely aesthetic it has to be versatile. I think the andesite vs diorite vs granite debate is a good example. They don’t tend to translate well to more than a few building styles. So people who don’t build in a style that calls for one of them, that person will hate that block. Whereas very few people hate sandstone.

7:13 its not a a seperate plant, but it is a separate stage of the plant, the blossoms come before the cherries, the cherries dont grow while the flowers are in bloom because the cherries grow from the flowers AFTER they bloom

I think a Minecraft block shouldn’t “need a use” in terms of a game mechanic: but they should “have a use” as in it shouldn’t be redundant to other blocks. The cherry blossom stuff is not redundant cause in it’s aesethic, it both has pink wood (making it unique amongst wood builds) and has the particle effect which is useful for builds. It has a purpose almost no other block can fill in Minecraft. Even if it’s mechanics are aesthetic, & not really a gameplay mechanic

I don't know if he's doing it on purpose anymore, but every time toycat hangs an american flag vertically, he always does it wrong. The stars go in the top left, even if its vertical. I don't know why I care, I'm not even american, but I've commented about this three times already and I feel like its my duty to continue until he finally hangs it correctly.

This is a ridiculous discourse. No one complained about mangrove leaves or warped wart blocks being useless and they literally are - for most trees leaves DO have a purpose and that is to produce saplings and sticks. Mangrove saplings exist on top of the leaves so the leaf itself doesn't give you anything if you don't have bonemeal. Even more so with the wart blocks, they do absolutely nothing if I recall correctly. The only reason there is an argument against the cherry blossoms is probably men being afraid of pink. (Also flowering leaves producing fruit is an idiotic idea, ripe fruit and flowers will not be on a tree at the same time)
