As a fellow introvert and generally anxious dude I've just found your channel and you are nailing it on so many levels. You've sold me on looking to try out a camera with a form factor like the one you use for all the reasons you described. Kudos from Brisbane, Aus.

You popped up in my recommendations this week and this video resonated soo much with me!!! After having two beautiful daughters I was able to pick up my channel again after some time and try my best to grind videos out as good as possible with the limited possibilities I have regarding skills on camera etc. I experienced everything you said and since English is my third language aka not mother tongue, I even have more of these „meditation“ pauses, since I have to figure out the sentence I want to communicate in English 😅 I don’t call myself a photographer, but it became a big hobbie of mine which led me to create my channel. I like to play around and use different cameras for the fun of it and share my experience on my channel. I got myself the pocket 3 for the exact reason you said. Small and removes the fear to have the the spot light on public spaces. But I have to put into use more, only recorded one POV with it yet 😀 Thank you so much for this video! Subbed! What I would like to hear from you would be the topic of negative comments. Although my channel is relatively small, hear and there people are coming in (when YT pushes it to further people) who just leave crap as comments, although the majority of my community is very positive. But as an introvert myself these negative comments just get me and stay in my head sometimes for several hours / days, although cognitively I know they are just dump haters, who have never created something of there own. Would love to hear from your experience and how you are handling it as an fellow introvert. Grettings from Germany! 😊

Firstly, from one fellow introvert to another - thank you! I'm so glad this video resonated with you. I know there are many more of us out there and feel it can be sooo tough navigating this world through this particular lens. That pocket 3 has really changed the game for me and many others. Its good to here you're pressing on but I hear you about the negative comments and I think my next video should be on this topic as it's something that sometimes makes me pause before posting for example, "Do i really need this stress". It happens to anyone putting themselves out there. Just know it's there problem, not yours. Thank you again - I'll be sure to check out you channel!

@@Jay_Ducker Hmm, where i am with things at present I think probably more an online course, but if I were further down the line or struggling I can see the advantage of some one to one sessions to make ask questions and get specific advice. Maybe offer an online course and following on one-to-one sessions as an “extra” for those who want it?

I agree with your comment on that society is weird sometimes. I had a Ricoh griii-x some time ago, and even my friends would say 'why do you only have just that tiny camera?' And they aren't even interested in photography! Eventually I sold it because I wanted to be able to change lenses, but I would love to come back to it in the future as a second camera. Your videos make me excited to go out and shoot, so keep up the great work🙌

Totally ageee with you. I shoot all my pro work on a Fuji XT5 and an X100 V. I just got a GoPro and I’m about to get a pocket 3. I’m going all small. Gave up big DSLR’s years ago. I’m 52 and my back hurts too much for a bag full of heavy gear. I shot my last family session entirely on my X100V and it was brilliant. Gonna start my KZfaq asap. PS: I also shoot on my Sony ZV1, and that camera is also a lovely stills camera.

Hi Jay, I am SO happy to have found your corner of KZfaq! Was starting to get discouraged that there wasn’t anyone out there that felt like me - I am the three things you said at the start 😊 Very interested in chatting with you in any capacity and my very first question would be ‘How do I balance being vulnerable as a beginner AND try to get clients at the same time?’ Faking it till you make it feels inauthentic. Thoughts??? Thanks and excuse me now while I consume your other content ❤😂
@Jay_Ducker
@Jay_Ducker 2 ай бұрын
Hey Lee and welcome to the channel. Glad you found your way here. That’s a tricky question because gaining clients requires some form of confidence in one’s abilities and if you’re a beginner, it will feel hard pressed to show this. I think maybe offering some unpaid work first and to build a portfolio, if you don’t have one is the way to go. This a broad topic and without enough info I could be giving the wrong advice. But I’m working on some one-to-one sessions. Let me know if you’re interested.
