Building A Shop: Clearing Land (3 of 3)

So I finally made up my mind on the layout of where I want everything... after clearing the first two areas! However, it all worked out in the end and everything that was cleared was required to do what I wanted. This new layout will give me plenty of space to maneuver equipment and hopefully setup a pad with minimal complications,
Equipment used:
Excavator: 2021 Bobcat E26 R-Series
Dump Trailer: 2020 Big Tex 14LP

Just found you a few days ago. Really enjoying the videos. Any thoughts of getting or using a chipper for your brush here and on other projects (maybe you already do)? U could have a pile ready to compost in no time. Stumps aside of course (unless it’s a morbark). You may be taking it to be composted as well I don’t know. I know time is money. Thanks for your time and efforts.

I did chip alot of the early trees in my yard, but its honestly just more work, time and money than just loading the material out to my town yard waste dump. It would be nice to have a pile of loam/compost ready for jobs, I just need to clear more space to store that 😆

I might have to rent one depending on the final layout and footings for the building! But I am hoping with building up the area I will avoid that.

What RPM do you run your machine at normally?

Usually around ~1800 RPM for general dirt work. If I am doing heavier stuff or want a bit more speed Ill open it up all the way, which I think is around 2200-2400 RPM.

It's all ledge / bedrock. Requires blasting or hammering to get through any deeper than I did.

Pretty much indefinite. About 50'+ was blasted out for a road just on the other side of the power lines from me.

Why not just dig a large burn pit and burn everything? Or burn on top of ground if too hard to dig. Seems like it would save alot of time and money.

I am able to get rid of all my brush for free at my town brush dump. So it saves me the effort, time and risk of having large burns.

Wow, a free dump? Down here in Florida you have to second mortgage your house to dump brush. It's been awhile since I had my business but the last 20' trailer I dumped back then cost $168.00. Then they wondered why there was so much illegal dumping on back roads. You have a good benefit if you don't have to drive a long way

Yeah, definitely a nice place to have in town. Many towns in this area have something similar, however, they generally only allow small diameter brush. So large logs and stumps have to go elsewhere. Luckily, I have a local place that will take my entire trailer as full as I can get it with any wood waste for $60 a trip. Though most other processing places charge $100+ per trailer load and then they turn around and sell the material after too.
