Building a small dry-stone house in the woods using the dry stone walling method. The dry stone walls will be approximately 1,5m tall, when the wall and the fireplace are finished, my plans are to use stones as a floor, then build a bed with trees, and last but not least a roof and a door out of wood. I do have some more plans for this place but that will be a surprise in the future.

Dry stone is a building method by which structures are constructed from stones without any mortar to bind them together. Dry stone structures are stable because of their construction method, which is characterized by the presence of a load-bearing façade of carefully selected interlocking stones.
While the dry stone technique is most commonly used for the construction of double-wall stone walls and single-wall retaining terracing, dry stone sculptures, buildings, fortifications, bridges, and other structures also exist.

You did a very beautiful build. I wouldn't mind having something as nice as what you built. Next you'll be building yourself and whomever else that stays with you an outhouse or a shower house so you can live there and have some place to freshen up. I would totally live in your bush craft building. Nice video.

Maybe your wife could supplement your vids with a little about the history and culture of the area you live , or maybe some outdoor cooking . That meal she prepared at the cabin really looked good . About my military experience, I started out in the army, worked there for 9 years, during this time I was in Afghanistan and Mali, I also studied to become an officer after 5 years as a soldier/ squad leader. 2018 I started working in the Swedish Marine Corps and stayed there for 3 years, then I was in the reserves for a year and now I'm back in the army, I accepted a job as a motorcycle, ATV and snowmobile instructor which will be really fun. I have worked with logistics for the majority of the time. I'm also a SERE survival instructor and I've help out at the SERE school from time to time as well. That is the short version 😁. What an accomplishment, so much hard work has paid off! You have constructed a beautiful cabin brother - the possibilities for bushcraft additions are endless! The wreath Emma made was a nice touch to your door! I have an idea to prevent deconstruction of your door, instead of redoing the “Z” pattern, you can notch a diagonal opposing pole to make an “X” pattern to stabilize the door. Good luck with starting back full time and congratulations on the teaching gig! Sounds like a great opportunity to share your skills. Wow, the final build looks like something out of a movie. Beautiful. I loved the ballet spin while tying the top piece in the entrance. HA! The entrance is a wonderful design. Adam, beautifully done! I especially liked that you had even drawn a picture of what it was going to look like. Very cool that you had a land owner that let you build this on their land. I hope you and Emma get to enjoy this magical place often. I love my Silky big boy saw also, I use it all the time. I have made some really good friends because of KZfaq, I wish Sweden wasn't so far from my home in northeast Washington state. We have beautiful forests and mountains here too.
