Building a Tamiya Lunchbox Kit! ( Project Tube-Box Pt. 1)

Hey guys!!
Better late than never...... finally got time to build the the Lunchbox Kit that will be used as a Base for project 'Tube-Box'.
Way back in the Autumn we released a sticker request to all the great RC youtube creators in order to do a special RC channel Lunchbox custom livery.
We underestimated just how much of a mission this would be as stickers would be getting traded all over the world, many of which got lossed in the post.... sometimes on multiple occasions.
We finally now have enough to complete the body which is now in full swing.
Infact, we have enough for two bodies!
In this video I will take you through the construction of the chassis, and the painting of the body..... of course, I had to go with green for Green Hawks!
In part two we will showcase the completed body, and shout all of the many channels/friends that have shown their support, so stay tuned!
This one will be more of a display shell for the channel/photo shoots.
With the remaining stickers Taylor will be doing another metallic green lunchbox shell for his CWO1 which will be a 'runner', and should feature heavily in our running videos over the course of the summer.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported this project, and for your continued support of the channel.

Doesn't matter how many CWO1's you have done, their always a fun build.... especially with a few bevvies to help things along! 🍻 😜 Here's the kit going together, and the body preparation. The real fun begins when I wrap this gorgeous Green iconic Tamiya in the many channel stickers that have been slowly coming in over the last six months! Stay tuned to the channel for part two where I get creative with Vanessa's box!! 😂 😅 🤣 👍

Cheers Dirk! 🙏 Part two will showcase the KZfaq rc channel sticker livery! It wasn't as straight forward as I had first thought..... All the stickers were different sizes, shapes, materials, and colours. I didn't want it to look like a random sticker board, so getting them all to flow with the natural lines of the body was a fun challenge. But, I think you will like the end result. Cheers Craig! I do love a bit of classic trance..... These tunes work well as they build nicely as the kit builds , and they are also a nice length for the longer videos. Yes mate, the green looks nice on the lunchbox..... not so impressed with the green arm though! 😂 👍 👍 👍

😂 "I have created a nugget of finest green"!!! 😂 Yes mate...... It sure is 'green! It actually looks really nice in the sun, and with any luck may keep the lefty' s happy to, being nice and.... well, green! Stay tuned for part two when the various channel stickers get applied. I must commend you guys for that @RCsoandso sticker that fits perfectly on the rear end doors.... It's almost as if it was made for a lunchbox rear? 🤔 Cheers for watching guys. 🙏 👍 👍 👍

@@RCsoandso Oh yeah! As I commented in one of your videos- An @RCsoandso custom livery would be great to see, and highly appropriate! And yes, one of your stickers is exactly the same width as the two rear doors on the lunchbox.... Either a great design, or happy coincidence! 👍 👍 👍

Yeah man, I love your posse of lunchies..... and you guys drive them in the way a CWO1 should be driven, always enjoy watching your lunchbox vids! We have a fair few, I have 3,Taykor and Moo moo have at least 3 as well. Like you say, always an enjoyable build. This one was built purely for the sticker project, it's now been dressed in KZfaq rc channel stickers..... and looks awesome! Stay tuned for part 2 to see the end result! Haha, the lengths you went to on this build and paint, even colour coordinating your arm to the Lunchie!!! 🤣🤣 Great build and a banging tune... you know how much I love that green, but yours came out way better than mine did! Good to see Shoebert's cousin getting in on the act, too! Can't wait to see it finished! 😎👌👍

Cheers Mark! Yes mate, it is indeed a lovely colour of Green, and really does sparkle..... Just like my matching arm! 😬 Ah, glad you spotted Shoeburts Southern cousin Enleburt.... he sends his best wishes to Shoeburt and Barbara's beaver! 😂 We will be showcasing the finished stickered up body in part two, it's really looking kinda special now with all the KZfaq logos on! I did have a little issue with one of yours, I lined it up and slowly peeled the backing off but two of the letters remained on the backing strip! So I had ' ark ryan RC' across the front bonnet!!! 😂 😅 🤣 Luckily, I've managed to stick the other two letters on separately.... it did create a giggle! Thanks for watching buddy. 😊 👍 👍 👍

Another great track and great build! Gotta love the Lunchbox! And that green came out looking really great, I love it! Epic tire sniffs, and even Cartman got in on the sniffing this time, EXCELLENT! :)

Cheers Fil! You know everyone is always waiting for the mandatory tyre sniff!! 😂 Yeah, Cartmans well and truly hooked I'm afraid mate...... Funnily enough I think you had a bit of South Park in your video from the weekend to didnt you? 🤔 Great minds think alike dude!! I just built the lunchbox kit totally stock as it's going to be more of a display piece. So much time and effort went into getting all those stickers, the last thing I want to do is destroy them! (as we all know that CWO1s spend more time upside down 🙃) The shell looks so cool now it's all stickered up, stay tuned to see the final product! Cheers for watching matey. 😊 👍 👍 👍

Cartmans hysterical, and actually very similar to Taylor in many ways as it goes! I love Timmmmmmy as a character, and of course Mr Hanky! 💩 Rest assured Mr Hanky will be back on the channel later in the year for the Poor boys rc speed challenge! 😂 👍 👍 👍

@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC Ah yes, I can't wait to see Mr. Hanky back in the driver's seat, smashing speed records as he does! Randy Marsh and Butters are my two fav characters on the show. Randy has me in stitches every time he talks. And Butters... Well, he's Butters. Laugh after laugh after laugh. :)

@@poorboysrc Ah.... Randy and poor old Butters! Both great characters Fil. I love the Butters creamy goo episode, totally kills me every time! Favourite Randy episode has to be when the Internet disappeared and Randy had to go and get his porn fix in the ration booth, 'kin hysterical! 😂 Growing up on South Park though has left me with a totally warped and often dark sense of humour..... which does tend to get me in trouble sometimes! 😂 😅 🤣 👍 👍 👍

Oh man the green looks terrific on the Lunchy! You got a bit done up with it as well! LOL! I am really looking forward to seeing it all done up and it is cool there will end up being two of them, glad you got so many stickers! Hello Addam! Yes mate, I'm loving that colour..... sadly my pathetic phone camera really didn't do it justice, it looks so much deeper in real life! We will film part two showcasing the fully stickered up body on Taylors decent phone, outside, on a nice sunny day! I'm loving how the sticker wrap turned out, but it wasn't as easy as I had first thought! As all the channel stickers were different styles, colours and materials fitting them on the limited area of the body to fit in with the lunchies natural lines and curves wasn't easy. I didn't want it to just look like a random sticker scrapbook.... It needed to have an organised aesthetical flow! But, I'm chuffed with the result. As I said in the description, this one will be more of a display shell for in the background of our hobby shed videos, and for my collection. I don't want to ruin everyone's nice stickers by running it..... especially as lunchies spend half their life upside down 🙃!! Taylor wants to build a runner one with all the other stickers to replace his yellow peril shell which is missing the front end! Best of both worlds! And yes, my arm is still slightly green! 😂 Thanks for watching and commenting mate. 😊 👍 👍 👍

@@greenhawksrc6806 Yeah the cameras, even the good ones sometimes just can't get the full pop of the paints like they look in person. It looed great on here so it has to really look sweet in person!

@@AddamsPlayground Cheers matey. 😊 Unfortunately, my phone is far from good.... It only has a 13 mega pixel camera, which has a lot of limitations, especially in my dark house. I never spend much on mobiles as they rarely last me more than a year.... being a window cleaner outside up ladders in all weather's they just get trashed! But, as I said to Taylor earlier..... if we want to take this youtube malarkey seriously we really need to invest in some proper equipment for the channel going forward! As soon as we get a sunny day we will get part two filmed, as a fellow custom lunchbox fan Im pretty sure you are going to like the end result! 👍 👍 👍

It's nearly done, just waiting for a sunny day where we can get outside to film it in full glory! I apologise in advance, as I have had to trim down some of the channels logos in order to get them to fit the limited space available.... but, everyone has got at least one featured! 👍 👍 👍

Oh yes very nice work you guys. You put a hell of a lot more effort into getting a lovely finish on the paint than I ever do. Smashing work on the details too. Oh a nice trance track as well. Maybe wear some gloves while spray painting 🤔🤣 Best wishes guys 😁

Hi Pete! Thought you would appreciate that tune fella, I do tend to think Trance tracks work quite well with build videos. I was trying to get a nice finish as this one was built solely as a display piece to dress up with all the KZfaq channel stickers that we have been sent (we already have many 'runner' lunchies in the fleet) Stay tuned for part two where we showcase the finished body with all the channel logos! As for the Green arm.... It actually washed off fairly quickly, being a window cleaner my hands are in soapy water all day long! Hey Fred! Oh yeah, the tyre sniff is mandatory mate! 😂 As for the colour, I'm not a fan of Green in general..... but like you said, it ideally had to be green for Green Hawks. And, I was pleasantly suprised how it turned out.... the camera footage doesn't actually do it justice, it's much deeper in real life! Part 2 will showcase the body with all the KZfaq channel stickers on, I'm really liking how it's turned out mate. Taylor will be doing another metallic green shell for his lunchy with all the remaining stickers/ones that still haven't arrived yet..... watch this space! Cheers for watching matey. 😊 👍 👍 👍

Very Nice..... But I can't help think that maybe the standard kit would be easier to paint (cover coats that is). I'm glad you primed the body first... THAT SHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes seen this video a few days ago (like 8), I'm just getting around to leaving a comment....

Ah cheers for coming back and dropping a comment Bob, we really appreciate any support for our small channel mate. 🙏 As for the body, I always sand and prime my hard bodies fella.... that's how my dad taught me to do it way back in the eighties. Just wish Tamiya paints weren't so expensive...... spent nearly £40 on paints alone for this build! It looks really cool now with all the KZfaq channel stickers on. Just waiting for Taylor to be free one night so we can film the finished product and get the video out! Yep, kinda silly really using a black edition.... especially as I've not kept the body black, not used the black edition decals..... and now I've decided I don't like the black wheels either, so will be buying some chrome edition pumpkin ones for it instead! The chrome wheels should compliment the shocks and body detailing far better. I get so bloody anal over my projects! 😂 We were originally going to buy a standard lunchbox kit for this project, but as funds are currently very tight I put the black edition kit out of my own personal collection forward so we could crack on! 👍 👍 👍
