Great episode. As far as I could tell, the North Shore junction has all of the important movements for the T and any of the secondary movements missed are settled by the parclo right next to it. Well done.
@MarkWilson-qr5pd9 ай бұрын
There are a lot of left entry and left exit ramps in the interstate system. However, they are generally replaced as a part of any upgrades. As you noted, they are proven less safe. It's best to use Occam's Razor (the simplest solution is almost always the best solution) in designing highways and interchanges. Complexity drives cost. Bridges and overpasses cost more than surface roads. Tunnels cost more than cuts. Cuts may cost more than rerouting. Rule of thumb: as costly as necessary but no more costly. Then again, this is a game. If you want spaghetti interchanges, go for it.

You really shine when it comes to highway work. Those interchanges were beautiful. Props to the devs too, the road tools are so much fun to work with.

What I think I like most about CS2 is it looks like adding smooth entrance and exit ramps is fairly easy. Definitely on my Christmas wish list!

What a nice video, hopefully there is no clapping in it >_> But yeah, nice series so far man :) Got some ideas: the area between Bixton and Auburn could be sprawled together by business/office/industrial parks and a shared airport. Connect both cities with a light rail link (Seattle Link-style, a subway underground just in central Bixton and for the remainder above ground/elevated). That nice hill in Bixton, beautiful real estate for those who have the money to afford living in higher spheres.

Love it! I also have a suggestion yhat i think will make Bixton 10x better, fix the waterfronts to the small "river" going through downtown. I think it'll be a great fix. What I mean is try to make it to where it's around the same width throughout the whole way, and have the main street go over both of the riverside roads, it'll look cool

Hey! I'm from seattle! I know exactly where you're talking about. Did you know, that there's an island that I-90 goes through. The reason i bring this up is because that island has a bridge that lands on the seattle side, and then goes into a tunnel through a massive hill that has a bunch of houses on it. Your first interchange is what i thought of when you started this video.
@anderssn9 ай бұрын
I wish projects like a massive bridge were reflected more realistically in the cost of the project, that bridge would not be a reasonable project for a city of your size. Obvious not your fault, just wanted to point it out. The Golden Gate Bridge cost 27 million to be built in the 1930s, which apparently is something like 550 million in todays dollar value.
@Timeister9 ай бұрын
Yes I agree roads are super cheap in CS2. In this case we could assume that most of the project was paid for by state/federal governments.

I love the cs:2 road tools because the styling and complexity is so unique for each builder that about 2 minutes before you said so I went “wow that interchange looks like the Seattle I-5 interchange ” (to be fair I also thought it looked a bit like I-5 and CA-163 interchange) Seattle, Vancouver, and Portland all have crazy interchanges imo, likely due to the combo of mountains, water, and density. I kinda just know that interchange as the point you can estimate how many hours you’ll be stuck in traffic though 13:00 also, I tend to differ. In my C:S1 cities and my interchange sketches, I find urban areas are more realistic with partial interchanges in some spots. I tend to connect three major roads, and than append a few exits to a fourth road from one side. This kinda gives me those weird interchanges where you can tell they used to be smaller. Maybe just west coast type highways though, idk. Someday I wanna do a socal inspired city and just go crazy with highways and interchanges, just for fun. Long ahh comment

Don’t know if you did this by design but on the San Francisco side of the bridge it does actually go through a tunnel right after the bridge gets back to land…super cool detail! And another awesome video! Also I’m from North Carolina and here we have multiple on and off ramps that come in or exit from the left hand side so it is realistic to have that!
