I’m so glad I stumbled on your channel. This was a fantastic series and I’ve been thinking about building a guitar for a number of years. Not seriously because I don’t have the skill to do so on my own but finding a luthier that’ll do what Steve does would be the way to go. It’s officially on my bucket list! Not editing out your mistakes was brilliant, it keeps it real and interesting. I’m sure many peoples’ stomach turned when you sanded through the side. Lol Beautiful guitar and it sounds fantastic. I’m very curious how it’ll look in a couple years when the Osage ages a bit. I’m sure it’ll be in videos down the line. The bridge wood choice and knots on the back really make the guitar unique and interesting. 👍👍

Oh man, Jeremy! Such a cool adventure you've been on with this build. So exciting to see the finished product after the ups & downs of the process. A wonderful, unique guitar with stories behind it and, I'd suggest, more stories to be created with it. Congrats man...can't wait to hear the next one you build ;) Definitely hope you'll share more playing with this guitar on the channel because it sounds top notch!

That’s Joyce’s guitar now… all jokes aside that guitar shines through finger style. What a great guitar to have for life and to pass down through the family for generations to come. Building an instrument and seeing all the work behind it knowing that you put you blood sweat and tears into crafting this instrument. It’s just the best thing ever. It makes that build uniquely yours! One day I’ll work with a luthier and build a guitar with them but for rn it’s just electric guitar kits:)

Wow Jeremy. First, I'm seriously jealous, what a beautiful instrument, beautiful sound. It's incredible, and don't let me or Joyce steal it! That has to be one of the most incredible experiences to have Steve and Joyce work with you to build this guitar. This is one that needs to honestly be in your family for generations, it's so incredible, and what an incredible story. And there's basically no other guitar in the world quite like this one. Be very proud of this work. You've created an absolute masterpiece.

Nice guitar. That must have been a really big old Osage Orange tree to get a usable piece that large. I'd have known that yellow wood from the first glance, but it's uncommon outside of the Valley so you'll get questions and inquisitive stares, which I know you'll enjoy. I like the banjoish fretless space at the bottom of the fretboard, reminds me of an open back banjo fretboard. Nice meaningful tune at the end. Special.

Great bass and balance with that Osage Orange, especially for an OM. I figured you might do some inlays on that blank section of fretboard, but it looks great just fretless. You never need worry about someone stealing and being able to hock that guitar, it may be one of the most uniquely identifiable guitars in existence now.

If your wondering whether woods like sycamore, osage orange, and other local woods sound any good.....wonder no more. I personally visited their showroom 2 days ago. Steve Showalter is on to something special. These guitars are not only made beautifully where the necks plays like butter.....they also have great acoustic volume and have that snappy quality only found on certain high end acoustics. Treat yourself to checking these out if you can. Thanks to Jeremy for this awesome educational series. I am vacationing in the valley with Showalter half hour away. Emailed an appointment. Joyce was great allowing me to try out guitars in showroom. Was also able to go in the shop and talk to Steve. Great experience. Would have loved to meet Jeremy but he was in Nashville. A ton of thanks to Steve, Joyce, and Jeremy!

Enjoy it. I'm sure this guitar that was built with your own hands will be your #1 for many, many years. It complements your voice and style. Will you install a pickup? I'm surprised you didn't talk about that choice since you seem to always install a pickup in your guitars. Can you tell us about that choice (or lack thereof) when you talk more about the inlay idea? I'm gonna miss Steve in your videos. His laid back personality and desire to teach reminds me of a college professor who befriended me (and suddenly passed a bunch of years ago from a brain aneurysm), right down to having a trusty gorgeous kitty and her Midwestern drawl. I hope you find a way to keep Steve in your videos. He's a pleasure to watch. Maybe he can do occasional educational videos about guitar building? Or periodic AMA about guitar building and repairs type vids? He's just made for the camera and might be able to help lots of people in their guitar maintenance and build quests (and it's good advertising for him too!). Thanks for taking us on this wild ride. I watched every single video and look forward to hearing your guitar and watching it change for a long, long time! P.S. You should take a photo a day to document how the wood changes over time!
