Welcome to FOUNDRY. FOUNDRY is a first-person (first-robot?) factory builder with complete creative freedom set in a procedurally generated and infinite voxel world. In FOUNDRY, you land on an unexplored planet and design a giant automated robot production facility under the watchful direction of your AI friend, Carl. This is a great entry level factory game for those not familiar with the genre or those that get overwhelmed with Factorio or Satisfactory.

Kinda real actually. I'm used to modded minecraft with Create mod, while factorio and satisfactory are also automation games, it's still incredibly overwhelming

3:36 Factorio set the standard for this I think, It's quite a common theme in automation / factory games. (DSP does this too, which I think again, comes from factorio) If I'm wrong, I'd love to be corrected, but I've played quite a lot of varying games, and I really do think it came from Factorio, TBH I think factorio has set the standards for a lot of factory games, but many games still branch out. I also think the power system for platforms came from techtonica, but I don't know much about that origin story. Gotta love early game QoL from the devs, regardless of the source.

I like how you describe one of the goals of the game as "destroy any bottlenecks in your system." Have you ever watched Josh at Let's Game It Out play Satisfactory? I'd like to see you two do a build-off in this game. Somehow I think you'd win the lack of bottlenecks battle.

It's a neat game, but it's really just Factorio but 3D. The science packs, the crafting, the ore nodes are almost exact to how it works in factorio.

Loaders can't pickup off of conveyors on a curve, must be a straight conveyor. Also, looks like the devs changed quite a bit from the early access version on foundry, looking forward to getting back into this game as I never finished the original playthrough.

The worlds are not procedurally generated yet. Rn you just have random spawns locations that always have the main 3 resources in a semi close proximity.

So the machine can only store 3 items at once, so Drae logic says to not auto feed it but manually do it every time it uses the 3 it can have in its buffer 🤣

Drea the machines will only ever keep a stack of three in the machine. This is to prevent unnecessary buffering of items all factory games do that. If you want the machine to keep more items you need to add them yourself

Meh...at this point it's just multitude of those mining operation games, that isn't all that exciting anymore. Fun for a bit and something else. I'd be fine if you decide to move onto something else.

This game would be perfect as a mmo. Just add base building, survival stats, weapons and enemies. And maybe multiple planets that player can travel between to add to the fun but not as many as no man's sky as interstellar travel will not be its primary focus.
