The lack of rebar in that concret really really gives me shivers, but that is just my perspectiv as a german construction guy (gonna be honest here, we would have made a 8-10inch thick slap with at least one rebar layer, but probably 2 in it)

I'm really happy to see you back posting regularly, especially after the video you shared a while back about the viability of the channel, and I am thrilled for you about your shop. I am also working on a shop. My partner recently bought a house with a couple barns, one of which is a 28x40 pole barn that has one end open and was used for shelter for horses and storage of hay and a tractor. We aren't large animal people, so it's going to become a shop for me. This leads to a question about your slab. You mentioned you had rebar around the edge and I am wondering why only the edge? Are you planning on a 4-post? I've been researching 2 post lifts and they generally require rebar 10"-12" on center.

After watching a ton of concrete channels, and the correct way to build foundations, I don't know if thats going to hold up. Not trying to rain down on your parade. It will last for a little while most likely, and I truly hope, longer than you need. Supposed to build footers around the edges and cage everything to build a structure. What you got is more or less how you lay down a driveway. I could be wrong though. And you'll likely need a retaining wall. God bless brother, good luck! # ROUGHWORLD
