A mod you could consider is some type of track that could handle a plastic bin so you could capture excess soil spillage or even water runoff.

For the threaded rod design, i recommend that you put a metal bearing/sleeve in the hole. Nothing fancy is needed, just to make sure its a metal on metal contact instead of a metal on wood contact. Otherwise the threads will dig and tear the wood over time.

My sons built this table for me last year (Laura & Aaron's) and I love it! They put heavy duty caster wheels on it for more flexibility. I keep it on the patio and then can roll it onto the lawn, for planting, so soil falls onto the lawn and I don't have to swept the patio!

NOOOOO!! 😭 The measurements in the description for the table braces are unfortunately totally wrong. 21 inches wide plus the 3 inches from the outer frame is 24 inches. We need 36 inches total to make the hardware cloth work! So, inside braces the middle spaced parts the hardware cloth attaches to) should be 33 inches long. So viewer, check your sizes BEFORE you make your cuts, unlike me 😢

Keep it simple and cheap. Use four pallets.Two for the top and the other two for support/bracing. The next step would be cedar which is much cheaper to use and holds up well outdoors. Sometimes with our gardens I think we do too much or have too much. Keep it simple. You don't want to be growing $3 tomatoes.

Is there difference between potting mix and compost ?
@ligynnekenespana
@ligynnekenespana 3 жыл бұрын
Density. Potting soil or potting mix usually contains perlite to assist in drainage and keeping the soil light. Also has a lot of Peat which is great at retaining water but also dries out fast. Compost is just decomposed organic matter. Typically when compost is watered it retains water very well but takes awhile to dry out which can be disaster for potted plants especially if using pots with no drain holes but even with drain holes it can be a problem. You could consider compost something to add to soil (potting or garden) to improve it's fertility or texture but just remember the addage about more is not always better.
