@@TheGauges420 I had exactly the same problem with a Corsair case a couple of years ago. Unlike Paul I couldn't just swap in some different RAM. I won't be buying another one of their cases!

@@trimat2016 A lot of these compact cases could be like 20mm taller and longer and it'd fit nearly any consumer level radiator with ram vertically, and these super long 3080s horizontally. The next step up gets so big you might as well put a reservoir to fill in the dead space.

My first build a year ago August was your $900.00 option of a build in November of 2018. It was a lot of fun and worked to my expectations. As summer in the South is always as grueling as Winters in the North, I think this is the build for my summer. When I was obsessively watching videos by roughly 4-5 of the most popular builders, Paul's Hardware was the middle path and remained the most sensible IMHO for bang to buck ratio.

For everybody wondering … the maximum size of Ram that fits in this build (considering the h115i) is 44mm. This can be calculated in a rather easy way: The mounting points of the 280mm Aio on top are 5,25cm away from the motherboard. This means we have a clearance of 52,5mm. Considering that the mainboard is lifter by roughly 6mm (+\- 0,05mm) from the back of the case and also the height gain thru the ram slots which is 2mm we are left with. 52,5mm (clearance) - 6mm (mb screws) - 2mm (ram slots)= 44,5mm Let's not forget about the tolerance of the motherboard (mb) screws -> 0,05mm Which lefts us with 44,495mm clearance. The g skill memory is 44mm high and therefore barely fits.

Got a question. The 4 8gb sticks... if its going into a dual channel (which I assume that board is) does that affect the performance rather than having 2 16gb sticks in the correct 2 and 4 slots?
@Deukish
@Deukish 3 жыл бұрын
No, the only real difference is that with 2 16gb sticks is that you have more room for future upgrading. Getting 4 sticks like that is mostly an aesthetic choice (4 light sticks instead of 2).
@ILikeWhatILike69
@ILikeWhatILike69 3 жыл бұрын
Doesn't affect performance directly but it could affect stability, and their ability to run full speed with certain motherboards, if the memory is on the QVL list it should be good though. Ryzen is pretty good with memory now, and the next ryzen 4000 series (or 5000 if they decide to call it that) should offer even better memory support.

nice work yet again sir! RGB-cable-count: funny, i'd go exactly the other way round: the way you look at the system is from the glas panel side - so fan 1 would be the top left one - then go the order of reading (which for some countries would be different as well...) :D

I love the new Lian Li Uni fans, smart implementation. The only problem is that you can't set rpm for each fan, but only for a "pack" of fans. And you can't tell the software to do +/- rpm according to the cpu temperature.

@@simoSLJ89 I think that is fine actually, other brands do not support pwm control at all. Like Corsair, you need to buy Commander Pro if you want to individually control fan speed. At least this unifan allows you to do it albeit just fixed speed settings (quiet, balance, or extreme) and currently does not support a custom curve. Maybe with software update.
