Great video. My arena has mock sea battles, monster/adventurer fights, and chariot racing. I find it's a very handy excuse to use creatures your party might not otherwise fight (my party is about to fight a bunch of swamp denizens despite being a desert campaign).

Excellent video and ideas to spark some creativity! My friends and I are starting up a multiplanar coliseum campaign, “Portals and Pit Fighters.” It’s really an excuse to use a whole bunch of everyone’s minis that don’t share an ecology. A coliseum is perfect fodder for off the wall combat encounters

Having felt like I stumbled upon this, looking for arena ideas for my 5e homebrew/spelljammer campaign, I can say here we have some great ideas. Thanks for your time my friend. DM idea note: Scrying to spy on your players, use it so your enemies know your players strategy, arena's are in big cities *usually* so spying can be pretty easy

My arena is an underground fighting pit, and it's champion is an extremely buff Aarakocra. (Yes, it's a Paper Mario reference...)
