I started building a mountain bike trail in my back yard. Watch to see the process I make with this project and hopefully it will give you some ideas or inspiration to build something yourself!
This is part 1 of the trail project. It shows the start of the trail, the first drop, and first berm. There will be more trail building to come soon!
For anyone wondering, I got the inspiration for this project from the Seth’s Bike Hacks back yard trail building video, so if you haven’t seen that one check that out to!

Quick thing how much of each type of wood did you use for this and what were the dimensions?? Also I'm talking about the original drop with the slope.not the bridge right before it.

Great stuff. Keep up the good work. I'm glad to find another small KZfaq channel of a fellow KZfaqr who builds backyard trails. Awesomeness. I plan on building rock features in my yard this summer myself. Will post videos when I do that. When I have my own place someday I plan on building dirt jumps out of wood which double is raised garden beds. Or a Permaculture pump track.

I like the after-action report approach to showing your work, and the voice-over and music style are great! I think that you show a really nice and attainable model for home trail-building! What I may add is that a low-impact way (w.r.t. landscaping and especially drainage) to build features like berms and landings may be wooden structures with something like an outdoors carpet, or grip tape materials to prevent slipping. I am moving into my first home in the next weeks and even after the first look at the yard I was thinking about building my own trails. I am inspired by you to make my own videos as well! I'm very excited to see more of this content around.

So there is a product out called impell rods in which you drill a pilot hole in the wood where it makes contact with the ground(or your logs) and tap in one of these impell rods and when it gets wet it will resolve into the wood and basically convert it to a petrified state(concrete) so the wood wont rot or decay. Just something u thought you could benefit from. I wish you were building it near me cause while I've never tried anything like that it looks fun. Keep it up.
