I am really enjoying this series. I don't know how many hours I spent playing Baulder's Gate. The gardens are the standout in this episode. I recently acquired some farmer miniatures and this should be a nice place for them to live.

This is my favorite building from this series of Baldurs gate stuff you've done so far! It looks awesome! I think the clusters of storage containers was brilliant. Because while the versatility of loose containers is great, let's be honest, how often has is that really useful on the table? Having some premade clusters to put down is so convenient. I love the the grout as stucco with the exposed brick! That was really cool! But mostly, I loved the gardens. So amazing. That kitchen is looking real good, btw. Nice job!

I really like the clusters of crates! I've got a pile of storage containers myself that rarely get used cause they're so finicky. I think I'll do the same!

I think it looks great! One way to get the brick exposed is to shoot a matte clear coat on it then cut shapes in easy release tape. Stucco over the tape and wall then pull the tape and tada! I used this method when creating 3 dimensional finishes in my decorative finish days. Hope it makes it a little easier.

Idea for Hobby crafters: If there are any shoemakers in your area, you can ask them, if they work with Cork and if you could have the offcuts they don't use and would throw away. You can also ask, if they would give you any old foot dummies (no idea what they're actually called) they use to make the shoe fit a customers foot, that they would otherwise throw away, and cut off the Cork. Those foot dummies you'd probably find at the Shop of an orthopedic shoemaker. It's a good bit of work to get the Cork off of the dummy, either (carefully) cutting it off, or maybe using something like a heatgun to carefully heat up the glue and removing the Cork once the glue is soft again (no idea if heating it up works, this was suggested to me by my Brother, who currently trains to become an orthopedic shoemaker, and I haven't tried it yet. There's also a chance, that your local shoemaker uses a different kind of glue, that react different to heat, so you best ask them, if their glue gets loose due to heat, and work outside or in a well ventilated area). This way, you can probably get Cork for cheaper than buying it in the store, and if they're really nice, you may even get the offcuts for free, that would've been thrown away otherwise. If you get foot dummies that are about to be thrown away, you could also get interesting shapes and/or different kinds of Cork.

Just a thought for gluing together the boxes and barrels ect; sometimes a player want to use a barrel for something creative! My players used a barrel just a couple of sessions ago to roll down the length of a trapped hallway to see what the traps would do! It could be fun to keep at least some of the barrels/boxes as 'single pieces' for these purposes ;)

It turned out looking great. I liked the look of thje brickwork -reminded me of a lot pof old buildings I have seen over the decades. That said the end result was also great and, again, similar to a lot of old building walls I have seen (I am NOT fizated on walls LOL!). Crop rows look fine as the furrows always look darker (moisture). This build is looking really good.

Came out great! One of the best stamp making material I have found are cheap plastic erasers that don't work really well as erasers.

Just from the thumbnail, i thought this was the best one yet. Ill admit, i wasnt sure about the roof then *bam* hit it with the wash. Bold to use the grout, i would have just sponged on an appropriate color paint in the natural gaps where the bricks didnt work and then expand out from there but in spite of crisis, it worked out. Garden bonus was fun

@5:45 is indeed the correct way to handle scatter. This is also why I tend to avoid composing rules of tiles and favor having entire rooms to lay down at once: Too much fiddly. Composability is inferior to quick population of the table.

Glue the foam stamps to a coffee can. Something with a big curve and some strength. Then roll it across the surface. If you look at the paint texture stamps they sell at hobby stores they have a big gradual curve to their surface to make them work. Like the wood grain stamps.

More excellent work! One thing I've found with using grout at 28mm scale is - thinner is better. Getting it more like a paint than a paste helps make thinner layers, which makes later removal easier, as well as avoiding stucco that seems to be 6" thick.

Idea: What If you placed patches of vasoline around the walls, then the grout, after it dries I think the portions of the grout over the vasoline would just break away. Clean off the now exposed brick and it might look pretty natural.

I love the gardens and the fences. Too bad the grout takes so long to dry, it looks really good when done. But what I loved the most out of this set was glueing the scatter bits together. I've got stacks of boxes/crates/barrels/etc and its just so finicky to use on the table, good idea, I'll do 3/4 of them that way. Thanks!!!

I've been using "canvas sheets" (used for yarn/cross stitching) for grates, window patterns, and other patterning. Hobby Lobby sells sheets for $1-$5. Its more rigid than drywall mesh.

I am curious now if it would not have been more realistic to lay down some hard-edged paper shapes onto the brick, and then peeled those off after laying down the grout, to get a more crumbled or ragged edge to the "stucco." Maybe a few smaller missing chunks, too. Hmmm,,,,I'm going to have to attempt that and get back to you on the results...but your house looks amazing. LOVE the finished product.

I know you’ve crafted some 40k buildings before it would be cool to see you making some of those other buildings too man. if you want a wood stain that shows the woodgrain without using oils that take forever to dry, i use water color! not like the shitty crayola pallette kind- the kind in a tube. doesnt have to be a good tube. water it down and boom, wood stain. dries in like 10 minutes.
