Truly a good custom bonnet for the Chev ute. Love the custom hinges, I had this idea it was going to be like a hidden piano hinge, but like you said the industrial look suits the theme. The Chev pick up is getting very hard to find in Australia, what is it like in Africa.

Excellent I love the Butterfly Bonnet, that's some heavy gauge stuff to be able to tap a thread in it
@ratrodsafrica
@ratrodsafrica 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. It is a 5mm (3/16)flat bar strap that I tap the thread into. The strap sits below the sheet metal, so in the end the sheet metal edge of the bonnet is sandwiched between the hinge on top and the flat bar strap below.

You got two Texas thumbs up!!!! You are spot on with those hinges. Love the way you angled them and made the bolts look like rivets. I’ve seen some $40k-$50k ratrods built on tv, and they weren’t half as good as yours. You really have a great mind for this. Or maybe it’s that thinking chair. Lol! You ever thought about giving out an address so fans can maybe send you some supplies? Keep up the great work. I’m on the edge of my seat to see what you come up with next. I wish you had more of the grill pieces to go up higher in the middle. I think that would be sharp.
@ratrodsafrica
@ratrodsafrica 2 жыл бұрын
TWO Texas Thumbs up! I'm honored Harold!😄 Glad you like them hinges man. Thanks for the great comments. The problem with an address is the fact that it is in Africa... The postal system here is pretty broken... Stuff will probably never get here. We use private courier companies to move stuff around, but it is relatively expensive. Got some plans with that grill - keep an eye out for the next video!
