Thanks to your determination hard work and awesome blogging your dreams is coming thru fast enough!!! Very soon you’ll have new neighbors and probably foreigners and retirees because they are also able to afford that area of land.

Don’t forget to put your lightning ground using your rebars foundation before it is too late. You can later put two copper rods 10 feet’s under ground but not as good. 😅 thanks for sharing your house construction

Finn/Sherlyn, that white flower is gardenia or rosal in our language. It has a very fragrant scent, one of my favorite flowers growing up in Bulacan. It is a shrub and very sturdy. I wish you and Sherlyn the best in your new home. We also grew talisay tree in the Philippines. My father planted that tree and yields huge 8:40 leaves that protect you from the heat or rain as well. Very versatile tree. Looks like you can plant a variety of plants in your land and they will give you a bountiful harvest. I can see the joy and excitement in your face Finn as you planted your plants/trees. Enjoy them. They are therapeutic, too.

Right choice to have your house built on that part of the province... wider roads (no traffic) and easy access to the city to run some errands. Finn, that flower bush is called Gardenia. It has a strong, sweet fragrance. It's good for cut flowers inside your bedroom and the living room if you are not allergic to flowers.

You should plan to plant Rosal, kalachuchi and more jade , cactus plants because it doesn’t need a lot of watering. If you want I can give you some of my summer hot weather plants well I’m in California though! Just saying about plants I mentioned go for it! 😅

I'm here in the Philippines for a short visit. I would love to see you and Sherlyn in Dawin, Dumaguete City. But, I have so much paperwork to be done for my property. No time even to enjoy the beaches. So hot outside. It feels like an oven. Got sick since I arrived from Toronto. I missed our Spring weather and fresh air. The seed of the ripe fruit of talisay tree tastes like peanut. We used to collect its ripe fruit, crack it using random stone and eat the seed. Talisay tree is a good choice. Me, I have a only variegated talisay tree because our lot is so small😊

Climate change brought along crazy weather pattern here in the Philippines. Dry Luzon and wet Visayas and Mindanao 🌞🌦️🌧️. Talisay leaves look happy having that droplets of rain in it.

Hey Finn have your foundation treated with termites insecticide or you will have big problem in your house later on. Those will crawl along the underground pipes. And will cause problems later on. Those flying insects are termites.

My family & I have been touring the Philippines for more than a month now & loving every island hopping & of course never miss watching your vlogs. The construction of your house is coming along beautifully. Love the nipa or payag 🛖. By the way, you can use the bamboo to build a greenhouse & bamboo drip irrigation, which I've seen while visiting farms in the Philippine provinces. It's natural & inexpensive material no need for fuel/power. I hope you plant a lemon tree (calamansi tree) as well. You gotta have rice with the chicken (rice is life) 😂🇺🇲🇵🇭

those white flowers are gardenias, or what we locally call rosal. they should scent your area with a lovely smell as this is a base for floral scent perfumes.

finn, just an advice, don't use any wooden products (floorings, doors, walls, ceiling, etc.) that area is prone to termites. make sure to have an effective anti-termite solutions around your property. excited to see your HOME project finish.

You need to treat the bamboo and coco lumber to prevent termites

Finn when they add that dirt on the corner of the house. It must be what they call keyd in . They must cut the ground atleast level or with a slight slope back to. Your house .then bring in level compacted lifts. If you fill on a slope it will keep slipping away down the hill forever if not keyd and become a problem.

the flowering plant is a type of Gardenia, maybe “radicans” to be specific. local name is “ROSAL”.

The broad leaf tree is a talisay, it grows fast and provides a good shade as the branches spreads horizontally. The white flower I think is sampaguita (we have that, it is as tall as the roof of a two-floor house).
