Jack Skellington's house from Nightmare Before Christmas movie
Made of foam board, cardboard, XPS, coffee sticks and LED-lights
To joint gate-pieces together I used Super glue and baking soda

I love Tim Burton's style, like a quasi surreal cubism. Not a 90° angle in sight. Dream like and slightly unhinged. Jack's house is my favorite structure, apart from Lock, Shock, and Barrel's treehouse.

The style you're talking about is callled "german expressionism", and Burton was obsessed with it during his early year. He did add all the spiral thingies later though. But if you like this style of acute angles and surreal proportions for houses and doors and such, may I recommend you to look up the movie "Krysař" (the pied piper of Hamelin) , also stop motion from the 80's, or Danny Elfman's old band, "Oingo Boingo"; his videoclips were full of this style, plus it's the voice of Jack Skelleton so you might enjoy the songs as well!

Very inspiring! It shows what you can do with some foam, board, fairy lights, a bit of paint, and a healthy heaping of talent! I don’t know what’s harder… building things with precise angles or ones that are whacky.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is my absolute favourite film, I know Halloween town just as well as my own town, seeing Jack’s house come to life this accurately makes me immensely happy, wonderful job with the piece!

Oh wow, this is the greatest house creation ever! The gates even open! And the animal sculptures! And the placement of lights! I could go on and on, but as everyone can see, this is just awesome!!!

Just a thought; you're obviously quite skilled, and have put many hours of practice into honing your skill....but wouldn't you be better off priming foam board before painting? I'm a painter myself, from portraits, landscapes and yea for family I'll put my painting to use for face painting. Unprimed painting on foam core just sucks. I don't gesso them, just a spray can of primer. Anyway, thanks for sharing your talents with us.

I use acrylic paint mixed with white glue as a primer. It also makes these builds much more durable. 👌

Is his house really small or is his door just really big? in other diorama videos, it shows this 'chimney' is actually his tower with telescope and books, you can check it with the title "Nightmare Before Christmas - Jack Skellington House Tower Diorama"
