In this film, “Building Know-How: Facade Innovation,” JDS Development documents the complex facade installation process for the tower of 111 West 57th Street, one of the tallest towers in Manhattan and most slender residential skyscrapers in the world. Hear from collaborators at SHoP Architects and JDS Construction Group about pushing the limits of engineering, design and fabrication through a facade of unique terra-cotta shapes, ornamented with bronze filigree. The complex wave-like relief created dissipates into the clouds.
