I can't believe I missed the stream! I'm a technician and I've been playing PCBS for a long time. Yes, I simulate my profession for entertainment, but only because it gives me the ability to build my dream systems with hardware I could never afford.

The thing I did not like about this game, as someone who has been into computers as long as I have, is that the cash rewards (repair fees) they offer have nothing to do with the real way computer repairs are priced, which is normally parts and labor, with a min time set in labor (typically 2 hours), not the "customer name your own price" option the game sticks you with. There are job offers where the fee the customer pays are less than the part cost, and you will lose money on the job. If you suspect the fee you get paid for a job is to low, try to find the price of the replacement part the computer needs and make sure your not loosing money on the deal. Good Luck!

The reason why it's so low in the FPS for the bench marks is 1: one of the "hidden" things is that they don't have the full RAM speeds enabled on most builds that come in. You can do this by going into the Bios by rapidly tapping Del or F2 and then going to the RAM OC tab, and from there enable the Ram OC to enable it's highest speed. I believe it's done by turning on the XMP if I recall, it's been a few days lol. Then a bit later, when the CPU overclocking opens up because they start using the motherboards and CPUs that allow it, you'll get to learn how to turn those up in speed as well. Though with custom overclocking of either RAM or CPU, you'll need to be careful how high you put the clock speed and voltage. But that's a learning process :). Same for GPU overclocking once that becomes a thing, though GPU overclocking is probably the easiest and safest OC to do. This is because it's done on a driver level from the desktop so to speak (irl), and thus in the game just like in irl you only have so far you can slide each of the sliders in the program you can buy later. Having said all of that though, if it's low to start with, it's probably mostly on the early hardware there. These programs IRL are made to stress test your pc's and see if it's stable. The game does this as well, and if they don't come setup properly or have hardware issues they can become unstable and cut to the blue screen of death as it's known, or BSOD. Getting the Blue Screen isn't death for the pc usually, just what it's called. They can give you clues to what's going on both in game and IRL. As the game progresses and you get better hardware, the FPS will start to go up in the benchmark software. The one they use in this one is 3DMark's Time Spy, and it's a fun one to watch irl if you have a system beefy enough to run it fast enough. It's timed in this game, so the more frames you get the more of it you will see. I'm fast enough to get to the end of it IRL, but then I aught to with how much I spent over the years heh. This Benchmark set in particular starts with the CPU stress test, then moves to a 2nd test that is a GPU stress test, and a 3rd one that I believe is either a combined or a 2ndary Graphics test of some sort. Someone else can further clarify this but, suffice it to say that if you pass this and OCCT stress testing in game, the system is good to go. Get a BSOD and have to restart, I'd look at the BIOS settings unless you're doing GPU tweaking. 3DMark's Time Spy and it's Port Royal tests (PR available in 2.0's beta) are real life benchmarking tools. They also give you a score at the end that allows you to compare to how others did in their own setups irl. (don't think you can do this in game, but irl you can).

Ok, serious talk moment here for the rest of this game: Cables. I understand the "F* You" on that one. But the way the game is doing this is trying to get you ready for this, as it becomes a major part of getting 5 stars which you'll eventually need. While I personally think that this should always be an option (and it sort of is) (and we all get to play however we want to) , this is just more or less trying to help you out for later... You'll need to get over the cable stuff and start unhooking them and hooking back in coloured cables of various types, whatever they ask for when they ask for it. It can actually be quite rewarding to theme a build out, especially once you have to start building PCs from scratch for clients.

I got this game when it is available for free and gone so far ahead in game

Not all ram is the same they have the speed then timings and if it's DDR 2 3 4 5 etc generally for gaming 3600 c18 great for gaming or 3200 c16 😁 Once you install new ram or change CPU or sticks you need to go into bios for xmp/docp depending intel or amd naming. Also using 2nd and 4th slots for ram if you don't fill all the slots for dual channel better bandwidth between the CPU and memory.

Some of those jobs are asking for other things like new cables but don't list it as a job task 😏
