Video of the major modifications I've done to my 1994 LN106 Toyota Hilux!
From the day I picked it up, until it becomes the off-road weapon it is today.
The build process was as enjoyable as actually driving it.
Mod list
Brief rundown
Motor:
It’s got the 2.8L in it thats been turboed with a eBay spec ct20 oil leak edition turbo hanging of a surf manifold pushing a mellow 18psi. Still really slow but makes cool noises 😅
Anti roll over additions
Wide track conversion front and rear. So it’s got a n60 rear diff housing with axles and n60 handbrake cable. Front has ifs hubs with hub spacers.
Running a u bolt flip kit front and rear
Tyres
Nitto trailgraplers 33x12.5x15’s on a dynamic soft 8 -22 rim
Or
Nitto trailgraplers 35x12.5x16 on a ally beadlock rim -25
Front Suspention:
Front has TM fab shock towers mounted to rampt custom reinforced chassis plate, 13.5” shocks, ruf leaves, highsteer, banana shackles, drop hanger, 80 series bumpstops with custom mounts, longer brake lines and an extended long slip front drive shaft.
Rear Suspension:
Rear has tundra rear leaves with relocated mounts, inversion bar with 12” shocks and 200mm shackles with 80 series bump stops.
Front and rear diffs are fitted with auto lokkers
4.3 ratio
Kings dominator extreme winch fitted to a tjm front bar with custom made brush bars welded to custom sliders made by Tony at Shires Fabrication.
Transfer case if fitted with trailgear creeper reduction gears, running power into the standard 4.3 ratio diffs. Still running standard g52 gearboxk
Any questions throw them in the comments!
Happy wheeling !

what a weapon, my 106 is no where near as crazy as yours but it still is so surprising where she will go, often out driving more modern 4wds with ease. I just got back from doing the Simpson Desert and she ate it up. Much love for the luxys.

Honestly the Ln106 would do it all but if your doing the lap, I’d say you’d rather be in a modern dual cab. The lockers make noise as they do their thing, doesn’t bother me in this Ute. Not ideal for road use in the rear but hasn’t caused me any issues. Unreal off road with both. I live in the Rocky Mountains of Canada now I’d love to see one of these crawl the mountains. Not many hilux/land cruisers out here, more land cruisers than hilux. However a lot of the guys here take their Toyotas and do “1 tons and 40s”. Not sure if your department of transportation/local police would feel with a full size axle from a full size pick up on a road legal Ute. But definitely a major upgrade for the snow wheelers

You’d have to stay for an entire year to get the best of every season! Snow wheeling is so much fun and so expensive! Big blocks, twin turbos, nitrous, blowers, 2.5 tons and 58s. @@HaydnKamp you can spend north of $200k building a snow wheeler. 2.5 tons, 58” tires on double bead locks, hydro steer front and rear, triangulated 4 link, you won’t get stuck even in 4-5 feet of snow. Buying stuff because buying stuff is fun. Is it bravado? Not enough to go camping in a nice spot, now we have to drive up a cliff to get there. Is it car manufacturers shorting R&D?
