Only person I found on KZfaq who's actually building a 1:1 running, driving replicar! Good show! Paint should be metalic pea instead of lime green, but I bet if you spray it with a pearlized clear coat, it would be pretty close!

Someone I know built one around a decade ago. I have a few pics of his build during the process. He lived in Wheaton IL

I would just keep the rear window big and the bumper/grille the way it is.

You’d have a stock wagon and not a Truckster clone…

@@torgy3 I see, did you wind up doing anything with the sedan you got the other front grill from?

Looking to build mine sooner than later. Already purchased the extra headlight housings and tail lights 😂 Question, what did you use as the grille insert? Is it custom or is it off another car?
@torgy3 Жыл бұрын
I bought another crown Vic and used that grill and basically fiberglass the two together. I’m not sure I’d do it that way if built another one. It’s pretty heavy.

The movie car used they used 84 Tornado nose for the grille

I don’t have those skills or the tools to get as far as you got. But I will figure out how to finish it. How much for it the way it is?
@torgy3 Жыл бұрын
Car was $1500, (purchased in 2012) bought another Crown Vic for the front clip and windshield $600, front bumper from Canada was $300-350 with shipping, luggage rack from Brooklyn $150ish, tail lights $100ish, paid $1000 for storage(4years) use of body shop supplies and painting the car. So I’m guessing I’m all in for under $3500 but it’s not for sale. I’ve received quotes for getting the wood grain wrapped and they were around $1300-1500

No offense intended but why would you destroy a perfectly good Crown Vic wagon to make a hideous Family truckster ? I own two Crown Vic wagon's and they are great and comfortable cars that I receive compliments on every where I go. People truly miss the American Station Wagon.

Not really sure??? Vacation is one of my all time favorite movies and just love the car I guess. They are definitely getting harder to find these days. I weep some days thinking about all the great old classics that got crushed when the government had Cash for Clunkers scam …
@phillipbouchard41972 жыл бұрын
@@torgy3 My hat is off to you as you are a talented automotive craftsman to be able to build the truckster. I also enjoyed the movie and I think the first one was the funniest. I also lament the cash for clunkers program as it has now created a parts shortage for these cars. I am currently looking for an instrument cluster for my 1991 that I had restored last year by Bundy Motors in Tolland , Ct. If you have any info. as to this part availability and sources I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.
