Hello everyone, and thanks for watching my video on how I build seat belts for my modeling projects. In this video, I'll demonstrate how to add some simple belts for 1:72nd projects, and I'll go into more detail about creating belts for a 1:48th scale project.

Modeling has really taught me to slow dowwn in life. It was a rush rush rush lifestyle for me and not healthy. The work you guys do is awesome as you are true artists. I am learning so much from your videos and applying the lessons to my modeling and it has taken them to another level. THANK YOU.

Great idea. I have a whole roll of that aluminum tape after sealing my hot air ducts. Should have enough for at least 100,000 models :-)

Good evening, I also use this type of foil tape on full length panels to cover it with an aluminized looking aircraft. There is actually three different thickness for sealing air ducts on furnaces, it is easy to use and if you purchase a roll at a $1 store, you can save a few bucks. The problems I usely have is in the start of stripping the protective paper from the glued sides. They are selling very small rolls in dollar stores and they actually come in different colours and so can be used these for different functions to cover, say the exhaust on large scale motorcycles, model cars and trucks. Y’a it’s crazy what you can do with it. The down side of using the product is , say you cut a size to fit a panel on a wing and you get wrinkles because you were to fast in applying it. I have tried many different ways to correct this mistake without remove and replace the “with the SAME piece of foil” but failed every time. If you make a mistake in applying it, the only way to repair the blunder is you need to remove the piece, clean the glue off the model and just start again. When you finally discover a way to apply and make it look good, you’ve found another way to place a bear foil finish on a project. Just a few thoughts. In closing , it’s best to have a dummy model you can experiment with to applying foil on a worthless junk so you don’t destroy your next jewel. Forever inHis service.

Great tape tip. I’ve just ordered a 10mm wide roll off Amazon (didn’t know anyone who had any), lol.

For cutting foil visit a craft or fabric store and buy a rotary cutter (like a fancy pizza cutter). Cuts cleaner, easier and the circular blade much longer then an x-acto blade. You'll be amazed how narrow a strip of foil you can cut.

I've always wondered why go to that much work when it will be covered up by a pilot and not seen. Unless one doesn't install a pilot

It's a good point, but I rarely use pilot figures, and when I do I don't use the seat belts.
