Today at Badgerworks, we make a start on a new project, the 1958 Plymouth Fury from the 1983 film "Christine". In part one, we'll start building the car and figure out how we're going to light the thing to recreate the iconic movie poster.

Incredible job!! I love that car!! One thing I wish someone would do is recreate how Christine looked after the bullies gave her a “Cleveland Steamer”.

I saw a fantastic build once where someone had done half the car new and half bashed, it looked amazing. I only saw one small photo of it on Facebook though.

Some of the 58 Plymouth fury's in the movie had the Golden Commando 350 w/dual four barrels and it's a big block Mopar and should have distributor in front, but I read too that some of the cars had a 318 with dual four's and a 318 is a small block and the Mopar small blocks had distributor in the back. Now I'm not a Mopar expert but I've worked on enough cars in my life to know enough to keep me from being stranded on the side of the road for very long, know what I mean? I'm 63 years old and I still learn stuff everyday, practically. Anywho, rock on 🤘 man, rock on! I'll be watching! 🤙✌️

YAY. I'm following along and a great way to start the day. I hope there's going to be a dent or three, Christine needs dents. Also the time is right for a limited run TV adaptation of the book.

Actually the Fury and Belvedere were both available in 2 or 4 door. In the book, Christine was a 4 door Fury. Old american cars treated model names similarly to how we use trim levels now. Example: In 1964 you could get either a Biscayne, Bel Air or Impala. They all had the same body, but came with different chrome trim, interior and engine options. Hopefully that clears things up

I'm not really into American cars but I enjoyed this video and learned some useful tips. I agree about the use of red plastic- it only complicates things. Grey is much better!

Firstly congratulations on your awesome accurate job! You're absolutely right about the double air filter issue. I think the kit is wrong because AMT simply used their older Plymouth Belvedere kit (notice the "Belvedere" labels still on the model) and just put it into a new box together with an additional sticker sheet. As I'm currently starting to build this model your videos greatly helped me to plan the necessary modifications I will do!

Great video mate!!! I’ve got that car in the stash to build, and you’ve just helped solve a few issues with where the bits are supposed to fit on the undercarriage!!! Greetings from across the pond!! Congratulations to Katie for her marks in maths!! I’m like Winston Churchill in maths I’m afraid, “The numbers do things to one another that are very difficult to forecast!” Enjoyed the video and look forward to the next one, and seeing how this turns out!

You did a quick fix for that intake manifold. That is a 318 Poly intake that they mistakenly made. I wish they included the big block with duel quads and the 318 like a lot of kits did back in the day.

You can get a old Johan big block and graft that onto the transmission, for example the Plymouth fury and Chrysler 300 have wonderful big blocks,😊

I love building model kits. But not cars. My younger brother used to buy them, but have no intention of building the damn things - he'd leave the kit on my bed, knowing that I would make it. Not being particularly interested in American muscle cars, I found them a bit of a chore, frankly.

Me too. It seems this is a bit of a "parts bin" build using bits of existing models and a nice box 🙂

@@SteamGeezerUK I built an AMT Belvedere years ago, before the "Christine" version was released. It's the exact same model, just molded in white. The fact that yours still had the Belvedere badging told me they changed nothing lol. The only other difference I see is the Christine specific license plate decal.
