A little about me:

there is a hidden mode on the Arp 87, it's a tremolo/delay, you need to hold on the tap footswitch and turn the program knob to the right.

Empress for the win. #ottawa Guitar into a console can be great depending on the board/preamp(s). For home recording yes, DI into a DAW not so much. Thanks for the content Sean!

just got my Yamaha Pacifica electric, now I can look at the pedal mania stuff!! Thanks, excellent vid. OK QUESTION: The only pedal I have now is a looper (ditto). So these would be the minimum needed perhaps, I know one can go down the rabbit hole and as usual, money is limited. thanks bro.....Ryde on, Ryde often and Ryde smoothly!!!

Do you also have recommendations for acoustic guitars? I have just been using my amp for years now, but for a better sound, I would do anything. Edit: He already talked about that in the video "How to Get the BEST Acoustic Guitar Sound"

Will the ACS1 mono sum? I kind of want one but only if I don't have to rewire my board every time I want to plug directly into a mono amp to practice.

Yes it does. In fact, I've been using it in mono most of the time recently.

The Strymon Iridium seems great for DI into a DAW, PA, studio monitors, or headphones.

Or you could save all that cash for another instrument and just buy a Joyo American sound for next to nothing. Kick ass cheap as chips amp SIM pedal. Only downside, not stereo!

I have the Iridium and the ACS1. I definitely prefer the ACS1. Much cleaner and warmer.

Why go with stereo stuff when the guitar is mono? Are you going DI into a PA OR are you using an amp too amd mic it?

Really cool board! So not sure if this is a dumb question. Really want a nice clean tone but also like to play with heavy distortion. Currently have a VOX modelling amp but find it way too complicated to use and want something simpler. Is it better to just get a good clean amp and add distortion with pedals? Or is it better to have separate amps, one for each?

get an amp that has a really clean and clear sound and then use pedals to add effects. getting an amp with effects will make things complicated and you won’t want to have to stand up to change the sound every time. it’s better to use pedals for effects. the boss katana’s a safe bet.

See I'm the exact opposite. I don't even use the pedals I own anymore. A plugin like amplitube & a few amp packs, I'm good. Then again, I sit at the computer & do it all myself, so nothing is live or with other musicians, that would be different(I'd probably run a direct signal & one to an amp). I just like the idea of being able to change my sound if needed. Hope all is well, take it easy.

Kind of a gear/tone related question...if you always use headphones, so your wife doesn't leave you, does the amp you use matter?

The Strymon ecosystem is amazing for small boards. Riverside, Mobius, Timeline, Big Sky - pretty much can nail any tone on the planet. Add an Iridium and you can do it without an amp. ...of course, this isn't a "cheap" set up, but that's not the point.
