I have to say I am amazed at how the middle did become very dirty blue grey on the test. I really like the way the dark blue turned out, and behind your buildings looked so great. I think you are correct as well with the clouds. All the ideas you and Mrs Hood come up with are fantastic.

I agree, that bottom blue looks WAYYY better than the middle and more "blue" than the top, glad you went with it! Can't wait to see this all done! Are you planning to fill in the buildings toward the wall sides so the blue doesn't bleed through the middle of the buildings or going to say in-universe the light it coming in from windows in the other sides of the building?

Speaking of painting, you might want to have the primer tinted the same blue. It will cut down on the number of coats of paint needed to achieve the desired result, thus saving money on materials and labor.

Idea for the backdrop buildings, perhaps instead of painting them directly onto the backdrop they could be cutouts made of paper or card stock that are stuck to the wall. This theoretically could allow you to change the position of background objects to better match the city in the foreground, i.e if you decide a section is now going to be part of the harbor you could remove the cutouts of sky scrapers and replace them with silhouettes of dockyard cranes and distant ships on the horizon, perhaps even a distant silhouette of the oil platform from the deep sea cabinet.

I was totally ready to pick the lighter blue on the top, but your closeups in filming really showed that Breezy Street is the right choice… A suggestion, can you get Breezy Street in ‘magnetic paint’? This would help you to move the clouds you want to make around much easier. Your undersea cabinet and bumper cars shows you are pretty good with the magnet->lego thing as well :)

For your train tracks you should have them running together through some of the city, but also running different ways from eachother, I display my LEGO-collection once a year on a trainshow in Bergen, Norway (I live in a small town named Voss 100 km away), and there I have one track going around the main part of the city, while having a much longer track that goes around the entire setup, that I have my over 10 meter long cargotrain running on. It gives the setup alot of diversety, and also due to its length the cargotrain can’t use the inner track, will maybe upload some videos to my account so you can see what is truly going on. I always look forward to new videos from you and can’t wait for the new room to be finished.😊 (Sorry for my bad english.)
@RobinHoodBricks
@RobinHoodBricks 15 күн бұрын
Firstly your English is excellent. I have a similar plan but it's still in its early stages so far. My issue is that train tracks compromise the areas around them with bends etc and therefore keeping them together limits that issue. Whatever I end up with it'll be a big improvement on the current setup. More trains out and more loops running!

As a someone in the trade we only use it if customer really wants to. We advise against it as it is known for issues with pigmentation, opacity and coverage. I would advise visiting a Johnstone's Decorating centre or a Dulux Trade centre. You will pay more but get a better quality of paint that will give you a better coverage and finish. Both should be able to colour match your chosen colour. Also they will be able to advise you best finish to the paint as you have limited natural light and that you will have a lot of artificial lighting in use. ie Egg Shell, Flat Mat, Durable Mat. Hope that helps

@@RobinHoodBricks It all depends on so many different things. A Lot of people who go to these places who aren't in the trade or know someone in the trade think that it's the same as going to B&Q or Homebase. Yes they can go to them but they are mainly designed for the trade and generally deal in better quality and volumes of paint. For Example there Dulux paint and then Dulux trade both different in properties yet from the same company. Also you get non tradies going in and turning into proper Karen's and kick off thinking they know better. It only takes a couple of people to cause poor reviews.
