Accepting a contract for a house on hard difficulty is a good idea just to get a feel of scope difference. The contract payout difference will usually reflect the difference in the amount of 'work' required to complete the contract. On hard difficulty there is usually more terraforming (excavation and topsoil removal), then when you're actually constructing the building there is typically more of each task (more concrete to pour, more things to lift into position with the crane). My only warning is that attempting contracts on hard is really going to ask you to do more of each step not really asking you to do different things. I feel for you man, I sometimes have issues with sleep too which is one reason I have played as much of this game as I have. It's interesting enough to occupy my mind but not adrenaline filled madness that would keep me wired. A nice chill simulator until exhaustion kicks in.

Me and my buddy are playing this at the moment, we're doing the hotel on hard, paying 3.2 million. We found a little trick when excavating the hole, you can dig a pit, get the dozer in there and shift all the dirt to the sides, me and my buddy dug the hole in 6 hours this way (its a bigass hole)
