This was a long time coming. You built a gorgeous boat without sacrificing quality. I've seen a couple other Zip builds where they were going for cheap and fast; I'm glad you didn't. This has been an awesome ride, and I thank you for letting me come along. I found myself waiting for the first of every month for your updates. I'm sure you and your family will enjoy the times you have in this magnificent boat for years to come. Thanks Josh.

Hey I'm from Trinidad. Yow Joshua, you're a number one winner in building wooden marine and etc. It's a beautiful art I've ever seen for the future. For it's decent and clean like architecture. And That's why I write you this comment/short literature. What I will like you to make is a yatch and fancy shape marine. Keep going brother don't stop 👍👍👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆✨✨✨👏👏👏👏✋👊👐🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

Good god, man. I would never leave that boat. I would just move in and fly around the lake forever. That was so impressive. The time you put into that beauty is insane. There’s no amount of money I would ever sell that for. You deserve every compliment you ever get on it. Happy sailing!

Brilliant. An excellent job that looks absolutely stunning. Last year i built a 21 foot rowing scull and finished the inside with a two part varnish. It had good gloss but felt a little rough to the touch. After a lot of experimenting i tried using clay bar on it (as used by automotive detailers) which transformed it. The paint came super smooth and those little air bubble marks virtually disappeared. You may have no need for it but i can strongly recommend it although i have never tried it on single part varnish. It is also cheap and very quick to do.

Love all the little touches from the fuel pump switch to the fender welt trim, extra windshield bosom all of it. Even if ever i built one , if anything i did different, it would not be because i didn't like how you executed your plan. I even was thinking that the lake you launched on perfect choice. Now stay out there with that good lookin family unit and "sop it up with a biscuit! " Thanks and well done. Blue

Blue Boy thanks for the compliment, i love this lake, it is small but close, it does however have a 10mph speed limit which i obviously ignored 😄, we (myself and my buddy in the chase boat) did manage to piss off a couple kayakers who met us at the dock for "some words" my buddy loaded first and i could see the ass chewing he was getting while i was circling off shore, when i got to the dock they were waiting for me only after seeing the Zip spent 20 minutes talking about the build! I got off scott free! the Zip saved my butt! great first trip!

Its actually moving faster than had expected. So happy! I'm so happy for you completing your zip. Looks awesome to say the least. You have something to be proud of. Now when you fill up you boat at the gas station, I know it will take you an hour because people will stop ask questions and look. I would have never thought that the Captain's varnish would give you a finish like yours. Wow! Again, hats off to you! Fantastic job!

Josh, simply spectacular! Quick figuring: 1050 hrs labor @ $60= $63,000+ $11,300 materials= $74,300 cost. When you consider your skill level has a far greater value then $60hr and if you ADD $1.00 for every hr you researched and ran each process and task through your minds eye, this is a Million Dollar boat and looks like a 2 MILLION DOLLAR Boat. I followed it almost from the start. Chalk it up to one of your life's accomplishments! Good luck with your family and life. Respectfully Pappy

Nice machine! Now that you have used it more than once could you please tell us what you think! For an older motor it looks like you have tuned it very well indeed and runs great. It also looks like it is plenty fast. You had 4 people aboard and the boat was still planing at half hull. I would like to hear what people who have seen your boat think. Also if you have the time, take it to a boat show. Again it is a splendid machine! I would not change a thing. The motor for being so old sounded like it ran like a top! You sir are a TRUE CRAFTSMAN! My hat is off to you. In your last update of this project please let us know what you think and tell us about the performance of the boat! Again OUTSTANDING BOAT well worth the time, effort, expense and your skill.

Wow 11 volts when you're pounding your speakers; they must be powerful haha! Later if you want your deck varnish to be perfect you can sand it with 800-1200 grit then buff and polish it out. That's what I did to my hull and it turned out perfect. :)
