We have that colour scheme on our McDonalds drive throughs here in the UK - and those wall decorations you pointed out are supposed to be our self service screens I think. There's definitely been a move in the last few years to make the interiors sparcer at the drive through/service station outlets - like they realise people don't stay around on the premises in these types of locations compared to town centre/mall venues.

Very interesting!! That makes sense about making them more sparse. I very rarely get fast food, and don't eat inside of the establishment on those occasions.
