It's a demo, not showoff. They go slow so you can actually observe the techniques.

I've been doing this for years it works for me just fine. Same as all the security guys who train with us.

Always a great experience to attend a seminar with Duncan Stewart. Do so if you can! Wish there would be more shihan like him. Impressive Skills.

To clear it up for people, Taijutsu is as much a spiritual practice as a martial art. And it is designed to learn how to gain better contrull over your body, which in turn would make you a more effective combatant.

MY FOCUS HERE IS ON NINJUTSU AND SOME OTHER MARTIAL ARTS THAT DON'T WORK IN REAL SCENARIOS, ONLY IN THEORY AGAINST A OPPONENT WHO IS STANDING STILL FROZEN.

MA's that utilize joint manipulation, locks, grappling, and the attackers force against them are always effective! Anyone who feels other wise is pretty dumb. A striker can't stand up to a good grappler and most street punks are wild strikers.

Also this teaches dirty and lethal techniques aimed to abuse the weakest and most painful parts of the body. Like punching up below the lungs in the weak spot to knock the air out of someone. Not exactly friendly especially for mma where rules hinder these kind of easy techniques that render an opponent immobile rather quickly if it lands

Just as you said, there are "original" martial artists that also have the ability to best UFC fighters. Fighting ability always comes down to the person. I don't understand you're malicious toward people wanting to learn, but I advise you keep in mind that curriculum (scholarly or martial) simply provides people with tools to reach their goals. The people themselves must pave the way.

Instructors in these styles apparently like to make a big show of the partner not falling until the last second like they are in complete control, as a result it doesn't follow normal physics. This is the thing you can do while a person stays still while you demonstrate. I don't see anyone doing it like real life. Garbage

And how you would explain a technique, oh grand master of all the paths? If your student ask you where is the control or the point of presure in a technique, are you going to just make some shitty flashy anime movements to demonstrate it?

I understand your first sentence clearly, my point is that yes as there are many martial artists who have the ability of some of the best ufc fighters, but still they don't use ninjutsu and other martial arts because it doesn't work.

Or maybe cause you're not allowed to use your fingers to specifically target weak points with little defense. have you tried some of the karate finger techniques on yourself? Even just lightly pressing hurts like a bitch

What? I've seen martial artists whip regular guys asses in real fights. Fuck one of the most popular vids on youtube is a kung-fu guy one shotting a guy across the jaw and knocking him out cold.

and im guessing that in a real fight you will fight a maniquem that will stand still frozen and allow you to perform the moves right? or waith i get it your students learn to control the matrix and become super fast able to perform all tose moves in superfast speeds not allowing the adversary to strike like 20 punches in a real fight. show us something realistic not theritical.

and i suppose your gonna fend off a knife attacker with a double leg take down ? All arts have the capability to work in real life situations, it comes down to the practitioner, to think otherwise is just plain ignorant. These techniques were used on the battle field for hundreds of years. For you to say that sport based combat with rules, referees, and judges is the only concept that works over all the others is just stupid. There are no rules in the real world.

I saw a poster where they promoted some club training BJ Thai boxing krav maga and mma. I don't my teacher this and asked why not as many trained this as much anymore. They want to do sport and win. Some like one guy went on some championships and won some gold medals and a girl went to Thailand and fight there. The reason why our art wasn't that popular is because, we use a lot of dirty tricks and moves. And it certainly is true. Even very early as just a few weeks newbie we're taught attacks to the throat, liver and weak points around the head using our fingers and pointing thumbs which he pointed out to be very careful when using, or not even use the fingers at all due to how easy it is to hit a weak point seriously. Even just training to learn the techniques hurt. Like punching the upper arm and when their lower abdomen muscles are stretched you thrust your thumb point first right in. One light thrust as a practice was enough for me to back every time he did it. It hurts and would make mma fights end insanely fast, and end with a lot more broken small bones

Bruce Lee was famed to be too fats for the camera. His own trained speed and reaction alone was enough for him to not need a martial art. When we train our techniques we do it slowly to catch in. But our instructors always start too fast to catch wtf is going on. Then they show the slow version. But when you see them just going casually without their full speed it's still insanely fast. We follow the steps and take our time, but our teachers have learnt them over so many years that to them it's almost normal. Plus we have one teacher who corrects the other teachers XD he sits on the side and when the other instructors do one step wrong or so he comes in and is ruthless. I'm actually afraid when I do something wrong cause if they want me to attack them or show how it's done, they do it so fast or so good that he doesn't even have to try or use his strength at all. When mastered these things are fucking painful. Especially when it's a joint lock or a different kind of dodge/defense where they strike vulnerable muscles and parts so you will hurt for days. Still fun though
