@@Mobay18 Actually, there are a lot of shitty guys in the tech industry, so your reasoning isn't really borne out by what we see. Silicon Valley companies are a mix of varying shades of political persuasions and personal behaviors. Historically, it's been more full of privileged, libertarian, small government types, like the ones you see in (surprise) The Tea Party. I can see why you would think that, but there is little benefit from doing this screening. Their focus has tended to be one that focused on the ability to do coding tests, or tests for cleverness and "pattern matching" (someone like the interviewer, lol), to the exclusion of other qualities like being an empathetic human being that thinks about how their work impacts society. At the end of the day, tech companies exist to make money for their shareholders, if they're listed companies. Any non-listed companies usually have investors waiting on that payday. The bottom line will take precedence over pesky things like human rights (China, ICE, overseas despots) and societal impact (teenage anorexia? fake news? FB says no worries)
