I got two of them in my 75g. Yes it’s oversized but these are the only silent pumps for my tank. And I tried maybe 10 different models, there is no competition in terms of noise and power/flow ratio out in the market.

Will just point out they have a "rock" mounting option where only the "head" of the pump wold be visible, the Stream 3 Rock. May be of interest to some.

I am the proud owner of one for a 300g. They really arent that big, no more than my 6105s. They aren't for little tanks, wieners worried about the cosmetics need not apply. They are cheaper than an MP60 and push more water. And most importantly, they are built to last forever.

So if you want it horizontal it will stick out 7 inches? I like how you guys change angles of this video (@5:05 min mark) don’t really show that. Even the flow graphic at @5:35 cuts out the full pump picture.

Why would it stick out 7 inches if mounted horizontally? the pump is 7 inches long, not 7 inches wide, and the magnets rn along the length of the pump, not to "bottom" 🤷‍♂️ at the time mark you are referring to it is mounted on the side glass. And the second point the graphic doesn't cut out anything other than the other attachments that are not being discussed, you can see this just before the graphic shows up, the full pump is to the right of the graphic but head on, so not 100% sure what the issues are here

@@skeptics_reef5575 I agree the pump at the 5:05 mark is on the side of the tank, but look where the sand and rock are. It’s clearly not mounted vertically. It is sticking straight into the tank the full 7” with the ‘bottom’ attached the glass. I assume everyone would use the elbow attachment instead but probably lose some power doing that.

@@idaschannel sorry now I'm confused, no you are right its not mounted vertically, as we were talking about it being mounted horizontally which it is? It's not mounted on the "bottom" if the pump and sticking out the full 7 inches, there is no way of mounting it on its bottom, the magnets are on the side of the pump. Pause it and pay attention to where the silicone lines are and remember it is just a small demonstration tank. It's just the angle 👍

Starts to look really affordable when compared to MP60 or Panta Rhei! Plus it's got that 5 year warranty which speaks volumes to the build quality. :) Definitely not a cheap pump, but again, rated for tanks up to 800 gallons. Huge.

At most, 50w. Not enough to worry about on the tanks it is designed for

Being basically frictionless, should be less heat than most other pumps.

Euro braces, overflow panels, etc are also placement options! But yes, I agree, 15mm seems a tad thin for a tank that size so you'd likely be working on one of the end panels that tend to be thinner.

Poor mounting options for large penninsula tanks, MP60 is better for that imo.

This video would have been better had you showed it installed and working on a tank or even it's actual flow pattern using the floating beads as has been done before for some products. Showing some random huge tank when you mention 800 gallons that's using competitors pumps is pretty laughable to me. It looks very awkward to mount and not have the flow just bolt right down the face of the glass and my experience with flow deflectors right on the outlet have shown me it really kills the flow output of the pump with the sudden redirect at the outlet. I do actually have an 800 gallon tank and I really don't see how this is usable based on the video I watched.

This is a spotlight video, and I try to keep things pretty broad while still getting into the notable features and must-know information on the product. We also do investigates, basic setup, top 10 tips/mistakes, and other videos to cover the nitty-gritty info! You should definitely expect to see this pump in the upcoming investigates series on flow pumps, which will run them through a battery of tests to outline and showcase the performance and flow pattern 😀 P.s. we do have shots of the pump running in a tank in this video as well! You may have stopped before you got to them.
