Elk intellect is "state intensive" ... meaning that whichever state they are located in, they pass along the genes for accurate measurement along with hunting rules, specifically those rules that relate to the distance a hunter must travel away from a road before firing.

Yes, shed collecting during winter stresses the animals when they are most vulnerable. Wait until spring when food is abundant before venturing out to shed hunt.

There have been instances where bull elk have been shot by hunters while they were in the process of mounting a female (or male or whatever). Such incidents are not rare by any means.

@@ricknally8730 the title of the video had nothing to do with hunting or killing. The "shot down" was referring to the bull was ready to mate. But none of the cows were ready yet.
