Just to give you some feedback, I come from a family who has owned and operated the same farm in Pennsylvania since the 1750's. I recently came across your channel and I really enjoy it. I'm 78 and your Dad looks older that me. Farm life isn't easy. When I was a teenager, I worked on an Angus farm. The owner went to Scotland and brought back a new bull. Beautiful animal. It was my job to go down to the pasture and get him when it was breading time. Everything was great bringing him back until he put his nose into the air and got a wiff of the cow waiting for him. Then it was him bringing me back. He was a small bull, so we had to put the hind feet of the cow in a hole so the bull could get on top. Quite an experience for a 16 year old kid.

This is definitely not the norm that most beef and dairy cows experience. I wish all animals got a life like this before harvest. Contained animal feeding operations aka factory “farms” are terrible, smelly, depressing places, that animals will literally risk life and limb to escape. Do a search, you’ll see. Mad props to all the farmers like Tom Pemberton!

I think I can honestly say that everyone who watches your videos DOES NOT find them boring in any way, shape or form! They are SO interesting, I’ve got my whole family watching them now 😁. Border collies are meant for sheep. There are specific breeds of dog for cattle. Said dogs are much shorter and they nip at the cattle’s heels in order to get them to move.

I know this is a year later and will prob be unseen but if you do see this, it’s a reminder how your videos are not boring to people like me. I go through a lot of daily intense body pains and videos like this are the types of calming vids I need. It helps me relax and also helps me feel happy with the subtle little cute parts in the video like cow happiness and curiosities they have. Thank you for being someone to make these types of videos. Some of us definitely need them to get through our days. Not ever channel on KZfaq needs to be hyper intense on entertainment. Not all of us want those so keep in mind that you are hitting a niche for people with a specific video need or taste to styles. So as long as you keep it up, you will do very well with what ever niche you stick to.

These videos are great for the layperson like me. It really does document the amazingly hard work that is involved in rearing, feeding, grooming, maintaining medical care, and resting these beautiful animals. I'm a vegetarian, and so don't eat meat at all. But I think that it's important for everyone to see these videos. I drink milk, and before seeing these videos took it for granted that milk would be delivered to the supermarket without thinking about all the hard work that provision of milk takes. Absolutely amazing.

Different metabolisms, just like people. We like to see “bony” dairy cows because it means the fat in their food is going into their milk and not on their sides.

If I understand correctly, it's how they're built and not that they're underweight. They take all the calories from their food and put it into producing milk.
