@@Abishekkarikattil Sir, what intake upgrades do you recommend? Mikuni carburetor? Does this engine have an air pump feeding oxygen into the exhaust port? I don’t know what I’m seeing on my bike

@@nevadastronghold Sir, I recommend the Green air filter for the intake. UCD 33mm carburetor. No, it doesn't have oil pump feeding into the exhaust.

Is the clutch and brake lever stock or other models of RE you replaced it? Mine machismo 350 which has got black but wanted to go the silver colour slightly thicker

Thanks for sharing. I also have the 2007 Machismo. I also changed a few things like you did to make it more comfortable to ride. I like the classic seat. I don't like those new split seat styles. Any suggestions on how to make brakes stronger, any upgrades available? How do you like it compared to newer 500's which are lighter and more modern? Do you think the AVL engine is a good one? I usually don't drive faster than 80 km/h, just to keep everything smooth and efficient. I'm 2018 I toured around the Himalayas on mine. There is also a rental place in Manali that only uses Machismo's for their rental fleet!

Thank you for asking questions. I've installed a full seat like the standard 500 now. I've moved the rear brakes to the left side just like the old cast iron bullet. It has certainly made the rear brake better. I've moved the gear shift to the right like CI engine Bullet. I feel that the modern bikes lack the feel of the AVL engine and the AVL is definitely better in the twisty roads and incline roads.

I'll be posting an updated video on the machismo 500 soon. I truly enjoy riding the bike at 80 to 100 kmph. The way the bike accelerates is something different. I did bangalore to Goa and back. It was flawless. A lot of adulation from all people around.

Hi Ram, please don't tighten the tappets too much. The pushrod should spin freely side to side but not move up and down.

I have a lot problem in breather pipe..water accumulate in breather box..(electra 2010 model) and engine oil becomes white..do u face such problems ..any suggestion sir?

Replace all the breather pipes once a year at least. There's a one way rubber valve or a no return rubber valve in the left side inside the timing case, replace that as well. It's will be near the inlet cam wheel. Try this and see if it works out.

I don't think that's possible because the diameter of the bend pipe will be different.

Oil pump shaft noise is coming while you starting the engine...

I'll check if there's oil flow to the rockers through the pipes. That'll help me figure out if the oil pump is fine.

Its a beautiful bike, you have maintained it really well, i have the 2009 machismo 500. Where are you getting it serviced in bangalore? i am not happy with my mechanic, he has done a shoddy job with it. It will be great help if you can lead me to a decent mechanic. Also where can i purchase the stock silencer? Thanks in Advance :)

I tried 7 mechanics(big names) in Bangalore, all of them ruined my bike. Now I'm giving it with Mubarak from Seshadripuram behind Natraj theatre. He did a fantastic job on the bike. I'll post the new restored bike video soon. The stock silencer is hard to get. However, you can try at UK auto spares in Seshadripuram.

I'll share soon. My mechanic changed from iridium to platinum plug during the last service. It idles better now.

There are multiple things to check. All the breather pipes need to be checked, get the carburetor cleaned, buy a platinum or iridium sparkplug. Let me know if the issue persists.

It depends on how the bike was maintained. If it was maintained well, then you'll enjoy the bike. If not, you'll spend a lot of money on repairs.

I own a machismo 350 2008 model, changed carburetor to pulsar 220 by porting...But I didn't feel any difference in performance after that but a lot of missing issues caused by lack of turning.. Could you help to find out a genuine mechanic in banglore..

The parts are still available. Only the bore piston kit is hard to source.

Bro I have installed 1975 old carburettor in machismo 500 . Does it effect on mileage?

I think the performance would get affected. The AVL engine requires a different carburettor. The jets inside are slightly bigger than the older carburettor.

Why u removed manual decompression from the tappet cover ?

I removed decompression as I mostly use electric start rather than kick start. The self bearing lasts at least 2 years.

There was oil leak from breather pipe in 2017 and then I change the rubber seal inside the timing case near the cam wheels. It's on the top left corner of the timing case. The problem stopped after that rubber seal change.

125 kmph before and 130 kmph after. But the 535 kit failed on me on a ride. I've installed a stock avl 500 bore kit now.

My bike is a 2008 model. Fitness certification and registration will happen in 2023. The RTO will renew the RC after inspection of the bike.

Make sure the bike is starting, all lights working before you and paint redone before taking for inspection.

Sir I have one 350 avl , and I put a free flow shortbottle silencer to it , is it bad for the machine?

It's not bad for the engine but the bike will be too loud. It's not legal to have free flow exhaust in most states. Try and stick with stock exhaust or old type short bottle. I have tried them myself I list these below: Benefit: Strong mid range torque Better acceleration A bit more top speed Disadvantages: Not legal Too loud for long rides

@@Abishekkarikattil I'm using my dad's 2005 model Standard 350 for sometime. The stock long bottle glass wool silencer is not available now. It's been a long time since it was changed with a short bottle with baffles. But I don't like the thump for long rides. Can you recommend a silencer for this model. Low noise, better engine performance & fuel economy is what I need.

@@harikrishnan1954 I think you should try the quality brand short bottle once. It's a Chennai based brand I guess. It's not too loud and good for highway. I would suggest the stock exhaust for highway but sourcing it is difficult.
