Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor is India's first under construction high-speed rail line connecting the cities of Ahmedabad, Gujarat and India's economic hub Mumbai. When completed, it will be India's first high-speed rail line. JICA officials visited Mumbai in January 2014 to discuss the details of the project, and made selective site visits to the proposed route. On 21 January, following several meetings between JICA and Indian Railways officials, it was proposed to originate the corridor at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) in Mumbai. The proposed route would begin from BKC, go right up to Thane on the Central Line, and then take a diversion on the Trans-Harbour route which is on the Thane-Diva-Vasai-Virar stretch. The corridor would then switch over to the Western Line, before entering Gujarat and terminating at Ahmedabad. 12 stations were proposed on the route, of which 8 would have been in Gujarat. The intention behind taking the route via Thane is to keep the option open to link the corridor to Pune. The team also proposed other options for originating the line at either Bandra Terminus or Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, if the BKC option was unfeasible. Air-conditioned bullet trains are expected to operate in the corridor at speeds of 320 km/h, enabling commuters to traverse the 534 km distance in 2 hours. Currently, the fastest train operating on this sector is the Ahmedabad Duronto Express, which takes Six and Quarter hours to reach Mumbai Central from Ahmedabad running non-stop between these two cities at a maximum speed of 130 km/h
The seven high-speed rail corridors are Delhi to Varanasi via Noida, Agra and Lucknow; Varanasi to Howrah via Patna; Delhi to Ahmedabad via Jaipur and Udaipur; Delhi to Amritsar via Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Jalandhar; Mumbai to Nagpur via Nasik; Mumbai to Hyderabad via Pune and Chennai to Mysore via Bengaluru.

Building 2 KM flyovers on highways takes months in India & 500+ KM in 10 years in pretty much commendable. If they are building a one lane circuit only then it can badly impact us in future because it shouldn't be limited to one lane only. Atleast 2 should be there & above 2 are absolutely fine.

Unlike the United States, atleast you can see how bullet trains can and will work for you especially if you work and finish the project and not stop half way and start again decades down the road. This is how the United States does projects. Build it and finish it then put it into service. Great job! Atleast your government is on your side..

First let this route be done.theyre building exclusive corridor .no reduce in speed so that means new tracks all along.this is flagship project. Will be replicates almost everywhere. Loom at metro now 13 cities have metro. Which started off only with Delhi and hyderabad and spread quickly

First of all this projects and dream of india has been created by Vajpayee government but that was needed to fulfill later years but totally got delayed and nothing been started till 10 years of UPA government of congress. Then again from 2014 onwards Narendra modi ji came to power who has once again taken all, steps to completely starts construction with its budget too. Since after 2017 then once again into 2019 Maharashtra side udhdhav, congress & NCP came to power who got delayed upto 2.5 or 3 years and completely stucked too. But from may 2021,shinde + BJP government came to power which started full swing now and got new revised dead line as well. This is 100% truth & reality of bullet train which is 200% required for nation.

Should have hired a Chinese company to do the job. It will be twice as fast at half the cost and get the Chinese technology transfer. The Chinese built bullet trains in Saudi Arabia and Indonesia and elsewhere are phenomenal.

The original bullet train project already cancelled now this is just modified high speed corridor project due to lack of Japnese bank support due to land aquisation failure. Dont call it as a Bullet train project whichbactually average 500kmph in other countries Now this current project is just 300kmph maximum operating speed only which is nothing but another exisitng train but little bit advanced speed.

@@Akelehimarenge the money can be used to provide basic facilities while providing employment to the labour. Employment is quite common in every project, no matter what is the size of the project. I am questioning the viability of the project qand it's necessity, what if the project fails to generate revenue even aftereoviding employment to the poor, how can u justify the project cost.?

@@ganeshdikonda1565 I was just stating that such projects are incremental in boosting the economy and shared few such examples. New cities and infrastructure will be built around mumbai delhi expressway and mumbai Ahmedabad high speed corridor.

It's due that both city are economical hub. In Mumbai most of the business is run by Gujarati. They frequently visit Ahmedabad , Surat major hub for textile and Dimond, Vapi in major hub for chemicals and dies, vadodara. The whole belt and city along with has some major industry hub.

Time se hi toh chalti hai🙄 Mera kam hi idhar udhar jana hai so I travel a lot in trains , 90% trains time par ayi hai ab ya 1-5 minute se zyada late nahi hua mostly
