Such a great story. I have two quarter horses one is 37 yo and the other 34 yo. Have been their guardian for over almost 30 years. They have given me and mine mountains of pleasure over the years. The can no longer be ridden, but they live out their days being fed and groomed and loved :):)

I am pretty sure in the wild the young stallions are chased away to form their own family and pack. Thank you for rescuing him since he was injured. Kind humans.

That would be the ideal situation in a wild horse management area, but they are managed vastly different on tribal lands. Some tribes respect the wild horses but others look at them as a nuisance (competition for grazing cattle) and dramatically cull the herds. If there are no immediate adopters, they are sold for slaughter. The fact that she so readily got permission to remove the horse tells me they are not a “preserve the herds” kind of operation and it’s unlikely there were other herds available to steal mares.

@@TheAstroflight "Horses are not native to the Americas" - Actually they are. They went extinct around 10,000 years ago (some think early humans hunted them) in the Americas, and eventually made there way back when people brought them.

@@TheAstroflight : Bison's hoofs dig into the ground, cows hoofs are flat upon the ground. This fact and the immense slaughter of millions and millions of bison and the introduction of cows/cattle decimated the grasslands, creating the Great Dust Bowl. Cows/cattle were walked many miles from the west/midwest to Chicago for slaughter and while all their walking impacted the ground upon which they walked, their hoofs did not turn-over the soil/dirt which contributed to the arid conditions now known there. Prairie dogs are very beneficial to that ecosystem but bringing bison back would change that entire swath of land in America. "Wild" herds of horses would certainly be impacted but, perhaps, in a healthy way.

Agree , and I think all animals are smart , instinct and communication in a way that young lady does. Telepathy, everybody can do it . Focus on good intentions and they feel it . Its beautiful.

It only takes a person with a compassionate heart. Too many people are heartless Not concerned about the well fare of others. You see it with humans with other humans. Even if a wild animal, it needs help. But of course caution is required. Many people have no knowledge of how to help. But don't even report a problem.

"Save" the animal is now confined in a small area. I'm glad they helped the injury but i think the best thing to do is to release him so he can be free.

It's natures way to kick the juvenile males out of the herd no matter how cruel it seems. I still applaud you for your efforts to rescue this horse and give him a home where he is loved and cared for. You went about it right too you let the animal become comfortable with you first before trying to touch him.

A young stallion getting kicked out of a feral herd is standard operating procedure. It's part of the cycle of life and herd dynamics. This is not bullying.

Yes, in feral or wild horse herds young stallions are chased out by their fathers because other stallions in the herd (really large herds typically have more than one stallion) would mean competition for who can breed with the mares when it comes time to breed. It's not bullying it happens to all young stallion who then go and find another herd, chase away the current stallion (if there is one) and become the new stallion. That or, they start their own herd with one mare. Correct me if I got any of that wrong I am not a professional.

They are nothing short of royalty in the animal world. My spirit animal and chinese sign is the horse. Been riding since 5 yrs old and never stopped and im almost 60 . Their strength and beauty are unmatched💘

I love horses so much since little even more as l got older. Little did l know my uncle had a horse farm. He past away, l never met him, l was maybe 9, he died of a brain tumor. Anyway my mom gave me my middle name after a horse trainer. When l found that out l was happy. I will always love hirses, have horseheads and horse shoe on my stone for when l die. Alot in my home. I thsnk this young lady taking care of this horse, amen

Never in my life have I seen something like that and I am 75 this month. I am so amazed and so happy you filmed this. We are all lucky to be able to witness even a small part of this story. He is absolutely gorgeous. You are one of the luckiest people in the world but at the same time I believe God put you there because someone else wouldn't have known how to earn his trust or what to do for him when he got hurt. That wound would definitely have gotten infected and abscessed and probably would have killed him. Thanks so very much for this video.

Also Respect to the Tribe and Landowner who gave green light to her to adopt him. That is how you should do it. Ask for Permisson because they lost so much land and animals in the History and deserve being asked .

Well this is the first time, I’ve heard a great story that caused my throat to close up and burn and my eyes burning with tears also!!! I grew up with horses and I know abt broken spirits and legs!
