This series is a good example of what the 90s Bulls would do to teams today that have no real centers. The 76ers had no real center with Gilliam and Mahorn who were both power forwards trying to play centre. The Bulls killed the 76ers with drives and offensive rebounds. If they played today, Pippen and Jordan would have their way with the defense driving to the basket for dunks. Today's small ball would not work against the Bulls teams from the early 90s.

jxn23 If Jordan and Pippen played in this Era. IMO that would be completely unfair to put two player's of their skills set in this weak ass era of Basketball. I don't think I would wanna see that because they would completely annihilate the competition...Could you imagine Jordan against these player's today...OMG They were in Awe of him then imagine what that would be like in this AAU/NBA league today. Scottie Pippen would shut every player down on defense. And Jordan would lead the NBA in stls and Pts per game Every damn season. Not mention how many Championships they'll win...I would say a minimum between 8-10

This is a great clip that shows how loud the Old Chicago Stadium was. There wasn't a bad seat in that house. There will never be another stadium like it, I dearly miss it. Thanks Em for the post.

Amen. People forget the amazing atmosphere of that building. The noise was 10x of the United Center and you could sit in the 3rd level of the Madhouse and still have a decent seat. The UC is vacuous and designed to host events like concerts in addition to pro sports - a sign of the times and a nod to the economics.

Scottie added more muscle onto his frame in 93...he would be stronger, but never as quick and fast as he was 90-92.

Thanks! That Pippen reverse dunk through defenders is fantastic. I can imagine it was tough to fit all the highlights into 10 minutes.

Am I actually seeing this? Pippen is unbelievable with these finishes. I know Scottie’s a great finisher but this is unbelievable. The passing of MJ and Scottie is off the chain.

Bulls only won by 5? lol. Going by the highlights alone, you would think this had been a 35 point blowout. I believe this (1991) was Michael's and the Bulls' most dominant and efficient playoff performance.

Yep, that 1991 team was seasoned and grizzled from losing to those Pistons teams for three seasons in a row. They were hungry, and designed specifically to beat Detroit in the playoffs. Everything else was incidental. They were on a mission and never let their focus slip once the playoffs started. It was so much fun to watch them.

I love how you point out that they only won this game by 5 points. It's actually fun to watch this whole game, particularly the 2nd half, because it really shows how the team had been seasoned, hardened by all those years battling versus Detroit . . . they were actually very comfortable playing in close games down the stretch of games.

After watching enough Jordan, I've come to the conclusion that LeBron is not a better passer. I think Jordan could have average 8 or 9 assists per game, like LeBron if he didn't shoot as much, but it just wouldn't have made sense for him; scoring came way too easily for MJ.

If you listen to who was announcing that game, it was Neil Funk, the Sixers telestrator... The following year, he would telestrate for the Bulls, and is still in Chicago to this day... This video is the first time I've ever heard him say "Jordan" and "Pippen" thoughout the entire game and not "Michael" and "Scottie". Neil Funk is beast!

Yep. And Sir charles in palying in an era where he wasn't 7'+ going against smaller guys. The exact opposite as he was 6'4" going against bigger guys. Plus he had a nice handle and was like a steamroller in the open floor with get hops and would slam it on ur head. Always said he was much better than the Mailman when healthy.

That layup at 5:52 was a statement layup. The play before, Jordan and Ron Anderson had gotten into it, so what does Jordan do? Grabs the board, weaves around defenders coming up court, and lays it in and one. The look on Anderson's face as he lines up for the FT is priceless -- a man defeated. :P

Monster exhibition from those 2. Although MJ had a subpar night shooting wise it should be noted that he grabbed his career high in rebounds that night - 19! Scottie shot a great percentage and just schooled everyone.
