I’m Native American (Cherokee) and I have so much appreciation, love, and respect for you Mr. Kanahele and for all Native Hawaiians! You are our cousins across the Sea. I wish the best for all Hawaiian peoples, we’ve been through/are going through the same hardships and tragedies that we’ve had to struggle with throughout time (genocide, poverty, drug abuse, and overall destruction of our culture and people). From a fellow Native American, Aloha to all Native Hawaiian brothers and sisters🤙🏽💪🏽✌🏽🙏🏽

Dear Mr Kanahele. Greetings from Brazil. Just a question. On the Aloha movie, in the very end, you give a lava rock to Bradley Cooper . What is it meaning in the traditional Hawaian culture of this act ? Thanks a lot for the opportunity.

The crate of axes given as a gift to Kamehameha the Great made many war canoes fast. Chieftess Kapiolani and Kamehameha 2 ended the caste and kapu system brought by Pa'ao and the Tahitian invasion of 1300. Kamehameha 1 and John Young conquered these Islands with muskets, canons and gold.. After the Mahele thousands of Kuleanas were sold for cash by the chiefs. The Kamehamehas' gave gave vast parcels of lands and Kauwa (slaves) to men with skills and factories. Kamehameha 3's Constitution made all men equal of one blood. Kamehameha 4 passed the alien land sales act. In it's wisdom, the monarch then became a president of the oligarchy of nobles and the three branches of government.. Then, King David Kalakaua ( a lawyer and 33 degree Freemason brought the nobles into the legislature and created the Republic. He denied any pressure from his group the Honolulu rifles in making that Constitution.. The US/Hawaii protection treaty of 1826 fended off the Russians, French.Chinese and Spanish. The French destroyed Honolulu in 1842 ... The Japanese attempted annexation in 1886 around the time that Kalakaua requested US Annexation and troops ashore to end the riots of the EMMA-ITES (John Young's granddaughter ) and Liluokani's first attempt at gaining power. .... The adopted sister, 4th proxy Liliuokalani was sent abroad. The Ali'is became more elite in royal schools ... The Kauwa reached 95% literacy in the World's most comprehensive language. The Kanaka Maoli and Oiwi became great loggers, Hotel owners, lawyers, judges, policemen, ranchers and businessmen. Many of the native Polynesians who were descendants of settlers from many of the 1,000 islands in the Pacific kept their Kuleanas and continued to fish and live off of the land. By 1890 the land was purchased by people from all over the World. Between 1840 and 1893 anyone from anywhere could become a naturalized citizen of the Kingdom. After her attempt to overthrow the entire government in the Wilcox revolution Liliuokalani abdicated the monarchy (same year as Italy did) and the Republic of Hawaii was created. The government of Hawaii signed a powerful Joint Resolution for protection by US Constitutional law and all debts were erased. By the time of Statehood 10,000 polynesians, 220,000 EuroAmericans, 200,000 Japanese, 30,000 Chine, 7,000 Philippine , 3,000 Africanand 20,000 mixed race people were naturalized citizens of the Kingdom/Republic/State of Hawaii. This was the miraculous evolution from a warring, stone age culture with dozens of Polynesian, Melanesian and Micronesian dialects to then become an advanced government that had synthesized a common language Olelo (1824) and many young Hawaiian (nationality) attending Yale and other Universities to then return home and build the great state that we have today.

They made a horrible mistake in accepting 45 acres and a lease of 55 years in exchange for them to stop occupying the beach. Basically what they got was a "shut up and go away token" and delegated to the wilderness and out of the way. They settled for basically nothing. And this is classical and historically the way the White man has done business with the indigenous cultures by taking advantage of them. First, you can't "occupy" land that belongs morally and rightfully to you. Occupation in political terms means that you are possessing something that "morally" belongs to someone else and as the occupier, you are usurping someone else rights. They should've demanded and gotten 700 acres and the land given to them permanently and for future generations, isn't that what Mark Zuckerberg did? They should've demanded power, water, etc. Instead, they got "worthless" land with no rights to developed because it is, after all, leased land, it does not "legally" belong to them. They basically got nothing. "He who gives you can also take away" They need attorneys, a radio station, a computer tech and IT, and ... "This struggle may be a moral one, or it may be a physical one, and it may be both moral and physical, but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will. Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them, and these will continue till they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress." Frederick Douglas, 1857.

Bumpy was the closest thing to a free sovereign Hawaii. There isn’t anymore royalty, Ali’i, chiefs etc. only Hawaiians who are all equal within the boundaries of their Hawaiian Ohana Inoa . If there is traces of royalty what does that mean? There are many Hawaiians who are far more educated than royalty, so what do we do? “Whoever wants to be the leader amongst you must first be the servant”. 🔥P.S. many historians believe if Queen Liliuokalani ordered the Lua warriors (Koa Warriors) to fight the invading U.S. Marines Hawaiian po’e would of had a far better future, reserved lands that are coveted by thieves disguised as custodians of Hawaiians best interests would not have had so much power as they do today, I believe they would not have been instilled. Lands would have been allotted from a tightly gripped hands which we suffer onto this day. “Braddah Bumpy keep your steps simple keep our po’e equal to one another but recognize the innovative and intellectual Hawaiians, I believe they are the Hawaiian legacy alongside strong backs. ML&Aloha Your Boy Kekoa&Ohana.🤙🏽🤙🏽🐗💨💨💨

The invasion of Sāvaii began from Oahu around 1803. meanwhile in Aokealoa (nz) prior to the extermination of Sāvaii, Māui, Kauai Ohana Aina, over 15.000 Kānaka Maoli had been exterminated by the invading Tahitians, Rarotongans, micronesian & melanesians alongside their european missionary integrators of portuguese, spanish & dutch heritage who supplied nz maori with 300+ muskets. Sāvaii's estimated fatalities were around 147.000.

Bumpy does not lie. He knows history. Unlike Samoa who never sold land to aliens, our Kings gave large tracts of lands and slavesto people from around the World and our grandfathers who owned Kuleanas sold them for cash money. The new land owners of all races were equal in the constitution and inherited stewardship. The Kingdom became a republic. ***** QUEEN LILIUOKALANI'S LETTER OF ABDICATION THE ABDICATION LETTER AND THE OATH OF LOYALTY, BOTH PERSONALLY SIGNED BY LILIUOKALANI, ARE AVAILABLE IN THE ARCHIVES OF THE STATE OF HAWAII. Photocopies are available in file folders available on request from the librarian, and the originals are kept in a safe accessible only with the permission and direct supervision of the head Archivist. PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE ORIGINALS WERE TAKEN ON MARCH 25, 2008 ISLAND OF OAHU, HONOLULU, Jan. 24, 1895. TO THE HON. SANFORD BALLARD DOLE, President of the Republic of Hawaii: SIR: -- After full and free consultation with my personal friends and with my legal advisors and acting in conformity with their advice, and also upon my own free volition, and in pursuance of my unalterable belief and understanding of my duty to the people of Hawaii, and to their highest and best interests, and also for the sake of those misguided Hawaiians and others who have recently engaged in rebellion against the Republic, and in an attempt to restore me to the position of queen, which I held prior to the 17th day of January, A. D. 1893, and without any claim that shall become entitled, by reason of anything that I may now say or do, to any other or different treatment or consideration at the hands of the Government than I otherwise could and might legally receive, I now desire to express and make known, and do hereby express and make known, to yourself, as the only lawful and recognized head of the Government, and to all the people of the Hawaiian Islands, whether or not they have yet become citizens of the Republic, or are or have been adherents of the late monarchy, and also to all diplomatic and other foreign representatives in the Hawaiian Islands, to all of whom I respectfully request you to cause this statement and action of mine to be made known as soon as may be, as follows, namely: First. In order to avoid any possibility of doubt or misunderstanding although I do not think that any doubt or misunderstanding is either proper or possible, I hereby do fully and unequivocally admit and declare that the Government of the Republic of Hawaii is the only lawful Government of the Hawaiian Islands, and that the late Hawaiian monarchy is finally and forever ended, and no longer of any legal or actual validity, force or effect whatsoever; and I do hereby forever absolve all persons whomsoever, whether in the Hawaiian Islands or elsewhere, from all and every manner of allegiance, or official obligation or duty, to me and my heirs and successors forever, and I hereby declare to all such persons in the Hawaiian Islands that I consider them as bound in duty and honor henceforth to support and sustain the Government of the Republic of Hawaii. Second. For myself, my heirs and successors, I do hereby and without any mental reservation or modification, and fully, finally, unequivocally, irrevocably, and forever abdicate, renounce and release unto the Government of the Republic of Hawaii and the legitimate successors forever all claims or pretensions whatsoever to the late throne of Hawaii, or to the late monarchy of Hawaii, or to any past, or to the existing, or to any future Government of Hawaii, or under or by reason of any present or formerly existing constitution, statute, law, position, right or claim of any and every kind, name or nature whatsoever, and whether the same consist of pecuniary or property considerations, or of personal status, hereby forever renouncing, disowning and disclaiming all rights, claims, demands, privileges, honors, emoluments, titles and prerogatives whatsoever, under or by virtue of any former, or the existing Government, constitution, statute, law or custom of the Hawaiian Islands whatsoever, save and excepting only such rights and privileges as belong to me in common with all private citizens of, or residents in the Republic of Hawaii. Third. I do hereby respectfully implore for such misguided Hawaiians and others as have been concerned in the late rebellion against the Republic of Hawaii, such degree of executive clemency as the Government may deem to be consistent with its duty to the community, and such as a due regard for its violated laws may permit. Fourth. It is my sincere desire henceforth to live in absolute privacy and retirement from all publicity, or even appearance of being concerned in the public affairs of the Hawaiian Islands, further than to express, as I now do and shall always continue to do, my most sincere hope for the welfare and prosperity of its people, under and subject to the Government of the Republic of Hawaii. Fifth. I hereby offer and present my duly certified oath of allegiance to the Republic of Hawaii. Sixth. I have caused the foregoing statement to be prepared and drawn, and have signed the same without having received the slightest suggestion from the President of Hawaii, or from any member of the Government of Hawaii, concerning the same or any part thereof, or concerning any action or course of my own in the premises. Relying upon the magnanimity of the Government of the Republic, and upon its protection. I have the honor to be, Mr. President, Very respectfully, Your most obedient servant, (Signed) LILIUOKALANI DOMINIS. [** note by "Dominis" is her married name as a private citizen, and not a royal signature **] ---------------- ** Note As the "fifth" item listed in Lili'uokalani's abdication says, she swore an oath of allegiance to the Republic of Hawaii, also dated January 24, 1895. Here is the text of her oath: ***** LILI'UOKALANI'S OATH OF LOYALTY TO THE REPUBLIC OF HAWAII Honolulu, Island of Oahu ss. Hawaiian Islands. I, Liliuokalani Dominis, do solemnly swear in the presence of Almighty God that I will support the Constitution, Laws and Government of the Republic of Hawaii, and will not, either directly or indirectly, encourage or assist in the restoration or establishment of a Monarchial form of Government in the Hawaiian Islands. [signed] Liliuokalani Dominis Subscribed and sworn to this 24th day of January A.D. 1895 before me, [signed] W L. Stanley Notary Public [notary seal]
