Exactly. I am an under 14 goalkeeper myself and when I make a fantastic save I never get noticed for it but when I let the ball go through my legs by accident, that's the only thing my friends talk about

This season I made 87 saves in 14 games, and conceded 11. But our second game I came up on a corner, got a bad punch, and sent it into the net. That's all people remembered.

I am HSV Fan and I feel pretty bad for Baumann. I wish Hamburg rather would have won 1:0 instead of that. But was great to see the Hamburg players all cheering him up afterwards. Not all teams do that..

***** its kind of hard especially when the goals are that big, you need to put a lot of effort to reach the ball at a situation like that and sometimes things happen quick leaving you no choice but to let it in or not even touch it at all.

Kenji Yamazaki Νο chess isn't like football.In some games you will have a winner no matter what you do.In football every goal could have been prevented if the goalkeeper had the right position and reacted correct.It's the same with basketball,volleyball etc.If defences played correctly and no ''mistakes'' were made by players the games would had ended 0-0

Me too. And I've made so many mistakes. But playing goalkeeper as a profession... Yes, it even happens to legends like buffon but u can very rarely afford to make a mistake. It's y us goalkeepers playing there as a hobby are different to professional goalkeepers: They are paid to not make mistakes. They do know that comes with the profession, though. But Mario Fransisko is right, so many goalkeepers have been ruined by the pressure and the sheer idiocy some people show when criticizing a goalkeeper.

The mistanke by Grahl isn't nowhere as bad as what Westergaard is doing in the same situation. He should have just kicked the ball far far away instead of trying to shield it back to his goalkeeper. Very poor judgement.

Maybe he didn't realize that lewandowski was the one who made the touch. He probably though it was either the goalie or the defender and in that case him tapping it in is better than it being counted as an own goal. Otherwise I dont know why he wouldnt let it go in on its own.

As a fellow GK I feel with these men. We are the last line if defense, if we fuck up then 9 times out of 10 it's a goal. When we are great we are rewarded so much less than outfield players. When the defense makes a mistake, the crowd blames the keeper, even if the team does not. When we are great, we are the fans Heroes, but if we make 1 mistake that costs a goal, then we instantly become a nuisance and liability to the team...

Being a goalie a hard job, which is why it is crucial for the team to keep the ball away from the goal as possible. If another team scores it's everyone's fault. Although after watching no 5,4 and 1, I feel those were mistakes and the goalies should only stay by the goal and no where else.
