Think he has made massive progress this season as he looks a lot more calm and saves the team in clutch situation. Also helps that his defence is a lot more stable and have more synergy this season and also that Witsel and Delaney are there to take the pressure out of the gameplay so that Burki can concentrate on goal keeping mainly.

I'm not a natural goalkeeper but I'd say I'm fairly good in net. I base my game off De Gea as I like to use my feet a lot and my reactions are good. I think when you pretend to be the goalkeeper you base yourself on, you perform better. It sounds ridiculous but it works for me

@@t_hanos21 Agreed. I think I use my feet to save shots because I'm naturally an outfield player so I'm so used to using my feet that I forget I can also use my hands😅 ah well, my methods have worked pretty well so far

The clip that starts on 1:41 shows not only what is commented in the video, but also the great technique he posseses: comes out with open hands and stretched arms, and more importantly, the moment he moves to make the save, he puts his right knee down, stretches his left leg and reacts with his left arm as well; every part of his body is ready to make the save at any height.

He’s a very capable goalkeeper but a lot of times he’s also inconsistent or often found making sloppy mistakes. This season seems like he improved a lot now that Schmelzer isn’t a starter anymore.

This is very similar to De Gea style of goalkeeping. Waits for the striker to shoot and does not budge. Striker struggles to spot too many gaps and has to chose a tough option. Then he uses catlike skills and footwork goalkeeping to to make blocks. He needs to add parrying the ball hard like to De Gea and keep it out of the box.

I believe they left out his ability to read the forward. Most of the forwards body positioning in these clips point far post, and I believe Bürki is reading it like a book.
