I think she was sorting out the logic. Mom is friend but mom is human. Beacher is friend but Beacher is dog. She said ‘human Beacher you’. I think she is trying to work why you and Beacher are both friend but you are human and Beacher is dog. This is amazing. She’s working out human language.

I can't remember "Mom's" name, but she needs to think of more word buttons to put out to answer these questions. Like dog is four legged, human is two legged, dog is playful, loving, a protector, furry, fun, forgiving, loyal, healers.

"Human Beacher you" could have multiple interpretations, but this would be the most intelligent interpretation! I think Alexis would have to introduce the concept of "are" to really narrow down what Bunny is trying to say.

@@pipercharms7374 I believe most people are good though, most people aren't cruel, the concept of morality wouldn't even exist without us. It's too complicated for dogs or cats to grasp as a concept. They follow their instinct, if they are treated with love they'll be loving back, but if a dog is neglected they'll be anxious and lash out. For people it's actually the same, people that grew up without a good support system or in an abusive environment struggle as adults. We can sometimes overcome negative behaviors through therapy or coping strategies but if we're always stuck in the same bad situation we just wouldn't thrive.

Poor Bunny seems to find this concept confusing, but her trying to understand it at all is incredible. Most dogs would get frustrated and quit trying to make sense of it I think.

Yeah, if you show my dog something she doesn't understand she'll lick it once and then look away. If you keep pestering her with it, she will look like you're abusing her or just leave🙁😅

Like a few of the others have said here, as well as on the previous video: the pronouns are probably adding an extra layer of complexity that’s getting her even more confused. Mom: “I am human.” Bunny (thinking): , i.e., she might be interpreting the word “I” in the sense that “I” is equivalent to “mom” in these past few interactions, instead of how we normally use the word “I”.

@@annebos4634 She's part of a study and the scientists surely want to know whether at least some dogs possess the mental capacity to understand abstract, fluid things like pronouns that always mean something different, depending on the speaker. But the owner will definitely have to teach her pronouns in a different way from what she's doing now. I really liked the suggestion below another video that "mum" talks back and forth with "dad", using the pronouns, and pointing at who they mean. Bunny would surely understand the concept better that way.

I recently answered the question on another channel, "If you could ask your dog anything, what would it be?" I replied, "Is there anything you need that you don't have that you need or want? (My fear is my dog will say, 'Where are my testicles?')" Some people misunderstood my answer, and brief chaos ensued. (I love your name.) 😊

One of the things that gets me is how quickly Bunny responds "Human Beecher You". That was quick. Whatever her meaning, she knew what she wanted to say right away.

Bunny wants to belong. Friend is a good word to use to make her feel like she belongs. She doesn't like to think too much about being separate and different...as most pack animals probably don't...it makes them worry. Lol.

She's adorable, and I love how she stands and stares intently, awaiting your response. She's clearly trying to wrap her head around what a dog is and how they are different from humans. I feel like she asks questions that have answers she just won't be able to comprehend, and it saddens me that she won't be able to get an answer she understands.

She's ready for more words. You can tell she's progressed to genuine curiosity and has more to say than the buttons give her options for. Really fascinating and wonderful! I've always spoken to my dogs like they can understand me and I've always felt, to a certain degree, they have.

Has Bunny been around other dogs with her buttons present? I'm curious to see if she would try to communicate with them using buttons as opposed to the normal body language that all dogs use to communicate. I think it would help to indicate how well she's able to differentiate between "human" and "dog"

There are a few videos of Bunny being at home when her dog friends are around. She only ever uses the buttons to communicate to mom or dad about her dog friends. For example, a dog friend came over for a playdate to Bunny's house but got too excited. Dad had to escort him outside to poop. And Bunny used the buttons to ask Mom where her dog friend went, and then comment on the situation to Mom. Some of Bunny's dog friends are starting to use fluent pet buttons at their homes and have the same arrangements as Bunny's buttons. So they are trying to experiment if animals will interact with each other in buttons, or if they might use each other's buttons to interact with humans... or any possible outcomes. Every day is a groundbreaking experience for the world. The scientists that Bunny and Billi the cat, and other friends are all working with They are all looking into all of these questions.

These videos always remind me to give my doodle a hug and stay on her good side; I swear I’m now terrified to give my doodle a bath, after seeing Bunny say she was mad about a bath, in fear my doodle will also be mad with me. So in a way, it’s like Bunny is making other doodle’s lives better?? I’m sure my Daisy Doodle would thank her if she could! 😂😂😂

I wonder if pronouns and classification is getting confused as well. That said, I think it would be fascinating if we had a handful of dogs and they all had trouble with the human/dog distinction - maybe they just see dogs and humans as the same!

There's been research done which suggests that dogs do recognise a distinction between dogs and humans. They react differently when either a dog or a human enters the room, according to neurologists. Their brains emit different signals in each case. Interestingly, cats don't seem to have this distinction, and apparently don't register a difference between cats and humans. I don't understand Bunny's question fully, but I do think she's trying to get clarification regarding putting her friends and acquaintances into categories. I think she's limited by her vocabulary as much as anything else.

@@Grymbaldknight I can tell you, my dog recognizes humans as massage givers, and dogs as something to keep away from the massage givers. I am not a cat person, so I can't tell you what cats think or do!

My dog Hermie can actually say a handful of words in english and he vocally said "I love you" to my other dog Lily (who is sick) the other day for the 1st time. He sees us as a pack and I don't think he differentiates between me being human and he & Lily being canines...all he knows or recognizes is the love between us. 🥰

I knew this was coming. Bunny is saying, "I know whats up, there is no difference between us." You give an animal human words and they become human. Take away words from a human and they are no longer human. (as we see these things anyway.)

@@shergirl92 yes i agree it might be confusing, but its similar with "come" : if bunny says come, she is expecting mom to come, and if mom presses/says come bunny comes. so i think similarly she could understand that "I" is the one pressing, and "you" is the other.

My board and buttons come this Friday. I can’t wait to begin. I have two dogs. One of my dogsons i think will be more eager than the other. The cattle dog thrives on learning, performing and achieving. My pomchi is a “casual observer” who does what he wants when he wants but knows all the same tricks and commands.

With less neurons, smaller brains are either more specialized/ignorant, or more ambiguous/fuzzy. By repetition, your fuzzy concepts get less fuzzy. having only very few words makes it tricky to convey complex things. it also makes it too easy to misinterpret things.

This is amazing. Bunny is actually thinking about complex things. Have seen about 2 dozen Bunny svort vids, there she show how smart she is, but it has been more basic things. This vid impress me most so far.

I can't remember "Mom's" name, but she needs to think of more word bottoms to put out to answer these questions. Like dog is four legged, human is two legged, dog is playful, loving, a protector, furry, fun, forgiving, loyal, healers.

if your only examples of animals so far are cat, human, Dog, and maybe Bird. I wonder if she needs a bigger sample size of other animals to understand the concepts of different kinds of animals

I was thinking that, too. Take her to a zoo or a wildlife sanctuary or show her some videos of elephants and horses or something. Or maybe it’s time to break out the taxonomy chart.

@@mose918 teaching it isn't that hard, she's already learned far tougher concepts. The only problem is that there isn't enough space on her board for a ton of buttons she wouldn't use very much.

I know it sounds crazy, but I think a book of nothing but animal pics would help in this regard.

I'd wait on the animals concept. It takes kids a few years before they understand this, it may be too soon for a dog. I'd stick to dogs, cats and humans, and they're all friends
