Ive always dreamed of working at build-a-bear, so this was super helpful. I remember going to the manhattan one and i loved it 😭💖

I applied for the job I think dec 31st and had an interview Jan 7 and worked the following Monday lol. It was super easy for me, they called me in for an interview, I went in the back and sat down with the manager and she asked me questions like why I wanted to work there and everything and then we were done. I think it last like 30 minutes to an hour but that’s only because I started talking about how I wanted to major in psychology and I love hearing peoples stories and making them smile. I had read online that they did group interviews and I was so glad they didn’t do that for me 😂 bab is my first job and honestly I love it. It’s one of the only places I go to that I walk in and it’s like every problem in my life is forgotten about and I become so happy. Everyone that comes in is always so kind and all of your coworkers are chill and fun. I always leave more energetic than I was when I came in. The only thing that sucks are the hours and pay. I told them I’m available everyday and they only give me about 2-3 days a week only working 4-5 hours, sometimes only 3 and you’re only making 8.45$/hr.

Yay I'm glad It's going well. I love going there as a guest, It's such a cute designed shop . I'm sorry about the hours. I know a lot of my co-workers had the same issue after the Holiday season with hours being cut. Thanks for stopping by!

i just had an interview today so here’s my experience: it was a group interview with 3 other girls and it was so easy and fun! i felt comfortable. the hiring manager was super friendly and it was just an overall fun environment. they made us do a little challenge which was we were each given like a type of person to “shop” for. so mine was a grandma shopping for a bear for her young granddaughter. so we all had 5 mins to choose a bear & accessories and present and explain each item. the questions were very simple. a tip i would give would to try and stand out. you are in a group so others will stand out more than others. joke around with the hiring manager, be really engaged, laugh and talk confidently!

I got a scent for one of mine years ago and the scent is still there and still just as strong as when I first got it but I don't know if it changed since then

@@bunnyjanie some workers put it in the middle of the bear but all my local Build A Bears always puts it on the top of the bears head, so it isnt under any stuffing. It have bears that still smell good after 3 or 4 yrs!

The scents actually do last a long time. I had bears with scents that lasted for 2 or 3 yrs!

How funny, the more I watch your videos, the more I feel that we have a ton in common! Build A Bear was my first job 11 years ago. It was one of my favorite jobs, and probably the perfect first job for me to dip my toes into the working world.

I'm thinking of applying at BAB for a seasonal job, and maybe stay there pt time if I like it. It looks adorable, and super fun❤plus I have experience with kids since I worked at a daycare for 2 years.

Try learning a basic stitch in case the hole needs to be sewn if the string doesn't work. My Build a Bear Grogu had to be hand sewn because the string didn't work properly. They had to cut that string off to sew it with a sewing needle at the checkout area. They also don't take the sewing kit outside the checkout area so kids can't get hurt by the needles in them. I got a build a bear because I wanted it. I also collect My Little Pony so I get a bunch of previously owned My Little Pony ones. My Little Pony ones are retired but can still be taken for repairs and things. I'm going to go get a My Little Pony Princess Luna one I got at a thrift store taken for the box that probably needs new batteries or something so I can find out what sound it has and get it working again or replaced if it doesn't work anymore. I buy some build a bears just to replace the batteries at the store then resell them for cheaper if I find them at a thrift store. The kid can get it, the parents save money, and they can still go get clothes for it at anytime. If you are good with kids and good at basic sewing it will help. You can put good at sewing and good with kids on your resume for a job like that if you are.

You worked my dream job🥰 ive been a day time bartender for 7 years and being an out going people person who doesn’t drink and is a bartender gets so old! I LOVE children(my husband and I have two, 5 & 3) and I’ve always dreamt about working there ever since I was a child!! Thanks for this video and all your hard work sis🥰

ok but the scent thing ? i’ve had a strawberry bear for like 5 years and she STILL smells v sweet so idk if that part in particular was an upsell ngl

If you wash your bear a lot then it goes away but I've read on Reddit that if you never wash it and it's near the "skin" of the bear (against the fur) it will last a while. I'm going to have them put it in my bear's head.

I would totally give it a shot to work here, for first time in my life, though I'm old. I've been a stay at home mom for almost 20 years, I dedicated to my home. I was an only child, no friends, and since very very little teddy bears and plushies were something special for me, through good and bad times. I don't think I can put it into words exactly how I feel towards them, it's just such an amazing love. I have tons of different types and sizes, but never had the opportunity to experience the build a bear thing, until a few weeks ago. I was on Orlando[vacations] there my hubby went with me, omg my heart was racing I wanted to cry and my inner child was free. My eyes were teary, it was magical, my own disney. If I'm honest I was overwhelmed, and my emotions were all over the place. I picked two, and went to the whole process. What an amazing feeling, cuteness overload, so adorable. I've come to think that I would really love and enjoy If I could work in here. Teddy bears are something special, like a beautiful companion through happy times, but much more through difficult times; They can be the warm place when you lost someone, something to hug when you miss someone...I'll never forget my first experience in build a bear...

@@silviamartinez097 When filling out the survey, fill it out as though you're a manager bound by law. I know some of it seems harsh, but if someone steals anything at all, they gotta be fired. That's just what bothered me. Otherwise, don't have colored hair or nails. Not too many piercings and cover tattoos. And if they don't call you after a couple of days, call them. It's good to be patient, but don't let them ignore you.

I have my bear from my 10th birthday party and I’m now 14 and I put a pumpkin spice scent in it and it’s still just as strong as the day I got it

I got my bear December 21st 2020 in Little Rock Arkansas , it was the dr suess “the places we’ll go” bear. I think I put a strawberry or bubble gum scent and it still smells. I did have it in its box for about half of this year tho. Nothing less I love it also the sound on it plays the peanuts theme

In 2017 ish I got a build a bear with chocolate scent and that bear smells SOOO STRONGLY of chocolate I’m shocked it’s lasted so long

I’ve got about 7 disks total? (A mentally ill 20yr old student aha). The strawberry ones I’ve had multiple over the years and they’re still going! The bubblegum one is slightly fainter but that one is stuffed in the middle more. I’d try not to feel too bad about the selling of scents as it might just be the odd 1 in every few batches that doesn’t last as long!

hi! i got a job at babw recently as a hs senior and i would say some important relevant things to include for babw specifically is as follows: - able to work with kids/have experience working with kids - (if applicable) mention relevant work (i didnt have prior experience bc this is my first job, so i mentioned volunteer work i did that involved cleaning, customer service, and managing children) - soft skills should be something along the lines of collaboration/team building, optimism, and success driven (babw rlly values all of these things in their company and workers) - mention any extracurriculars or classes you may have had that involve public speaking (such as model un, debate, etc bc they want people who can make convos with the customers easily and confidently) - if you're creative in the arts, be sure to incorporate that! babw really likes creative people and tend to look for people who r creative but overall, id just say dont sweat it! just dont lie or exaggerate something or include smth irrelevant. youve got this! :)

Scents go in the bears. You don't rub them on. I'd love to work there someday.

I didn't get a choice. The top priority that my particular store had was teaching new hires how to stuff bears. Only rehires were on the register when I was there but every store operates differently. good luck!

I have a BAB that I got when I was really little, I love it but unfortunately I put a bubblegum scent in it...... Now it smells like death and cheap purfume to me 💀

Did you allow people in the store to film? Where I live they got annoyed with me when I asked to film and wouldn’t let me which makes no sense because people do it all the time at other build a bear locations. So it can’t be a company rule.

Hi hopefully someone can help me out but I want to wash my build a bear, would it be fine to wash the bear in the washing machine? Or should I hand wash it?

To wash a Build A Bear: Step 1: put the Build A Bear in a pillow case/drawstring bag and close the end with a hairband/drawstring. Step 2: Put in the laundry. Mine was fine on the usual settings. Step 3:After its outta the laundry, let air dry or use a hair dryer. Never ever put it in the dryer bc it messes up the fur and it wont be soft anymore. I hope this helps it worked on my bear Cassie. If you have a sound then you should probably hand wash it, and if you have a scent it will be very faint after the laundry so you should hand wash that too.

Hi can u please tell me if this is true So basically there’s lots of rumours saying that the hearts u put in the bear you know the red and white heart or just the red heart basically there saying that the lil hearts have tracking DEVICES I’m not sure if it’s true cuz I have loads and I need to know if it’s true PLEASE I NEED TO KNOW

Late to the party, but this is definitely fake. I'm a Bear Builder at BaB and I've cut open a few of our hearts out of boredom while at work and there's nothing but foam. No worries there!

Who would invest in trackers to track a random bear belonging to a random person? No one. How much does a tracking device cost? A lot. How long would it take for BAB to be caught putting trackers in their bears? Less than 1 day. Funny idea though. Trackers in build a bears. :) Cut open one of your bear hearts to find out.
