It is estimated that 8.8 million metric tons of plastic waste are dumped into the ocean each year.🗑 Where does it come from and how can we take action?! We conducted an experiment to observe the buoyancy properties of plastics and determine how micro plastics may impact organisms in the energy web. Our models of the ocean helped us visualize where waste goes using simulated gyres and currents!
