Harvesting burdock in my back yard. Just a few minutes work yields an abundant amount, which will make quite a number of meals. Burdock is a very popular food in Asia, and recipes can be found in abundance with their cooking!

It grows like crazy here in northern Minnesota. Me and my dad tried it last year but it was too woody. I even tried pickling it, but it was like chewing on a chunk of boot leather. May have to try it again. Thanks for the recipe!

Put the sesame seed on a cookie sheet and roast them for a few minutes in the oven until golden brown. It releases the sugars, and gives it a 'smoky' flavor. Enjoy.

I’m thinking that this was originally a medicinal tonic as both plants are highly nutritious and nowadays overlooked....more for those of us rejecting Coke and other chemical infusions !
