Burger King India vs. USA: Which is Best? I Flew to Both!

How different is Burger King in India from its home in the United States? I went to BK in both countries to find out! Which would you rather eat at?
I tried the Mutton Whopper (goat meat), Veg Whopper, Paneer Royale, fries, and a chocolate shake at Burger King India. In the United States, I had the original Whopper (Beef), Impossible Whopper, Ch'King Sandwich, Spicy Ch'King Sandwich, fries, and a chocolate shake.
Overall Indian Burger King, like most American fast food in India, was around 45% cheaper. But as you saw in the video, I'm really not a fan of Burger King in any country.
The most authentic fast-food restaurant I've found in India so far is Nandos. KFC and McDonald's are both chilli bombs and very different from the original American chains.
Burger King opened its first restaurant in Select Citywalk Mall, Saket, Delhi, in November 2014. The restaurants are equipped with dual production lines, one each for vegetarian and non-vegetarian products, as well as different staff to oversee the production on each line.
A new menu was researched and developed by Burger King that includes items such as the Vegetarian Whopper, the Mutton Whopper, the Chicken Whopper, the Chicken Tandoor Grill, and the King's Paneer Royale.
00:00 A near miss at Burger King India!
00:38 Are the menus different?
01:09 Goat meat Mutton Whopper
02:41 America's original Whopper
03:43 India's Vegetarian Whopper
06:10 Charcoal Impossible Whopper
07:28 An Indian burger I recommend (Paneer Royale)
08:31 America's Ch'King Sandwich disappoints
09:07 I ordered the wrong burger (Spicy Ch'King)
09:46 Fries, India & the U.S.
10:10 Are the shake machines working?
10:50 The Burger King dining experience
11:57 One difference outside in India
12:14 Which is better? India or U.S. Burger King?

@@KarlRock Eh Five Guys is ok. Try In-n-Out Butger. They are not in the East or south though. Popeyes Chicken Sandwich is good but BK has a worthy Chicken Sandwich in Ch’King. Jollibees, a Filipino chain expanding in the US, has a pretty good chicken sandwich as well. And Chick-Fil-A. I’d give Popeyes a slight edge over the others and personally my favorite among fast food chains. But really Karl, America has a lot more to see and explore than BKs and Popeyes and KFC and some random Indian restaurant in Asheville, NC. Go visit our National Parks and other wonderful places instead of making videos about mundane stuff.

As much as I love burgers, the only thing I'd order from BK and liked was the whopper. Not even if it was the only burger place for miles, would eat there lol. Maybe if the whopper was $1. One thing I will note is, a lot of the food in America is processed garbage /fake!

I'm the late 90s/early 2000s whoppers and jumbo jacks were 99 cents every day, during the burger wars. I miss those days. Whoppers for anything more than 99 cents feel like a ripoff. And now that they're $6.xx or whatever... Absolutely ridiculous.

As a kid moving around Auckland and Orewa, it was such a treat if Dad let us have BK onion rings. Reckon BK is actually decent in NZ; I travel a lot, and in the last few years they've really pushed to have nicer restaurants. I tried their plant based chicken range in Auckland, and thought it wasn't half bad, and had a vaguely tumeric flavour that was confusing but nice. I hear in South Asia and North Europe they're actually delightful fast food restaurants!

11:05 That style reminds me of a restaurant chain here in Ireland. It's called Eddie Rockets and it's also Americanised and has the exact same colour pattern as you described back in New Zealand when you were younger, the checkered black and white patterned floor/whatever ... the seats wether they are red or not. I'm not saying come here but it's something to at least look up and see for yourself. I haven't had food there in many many years but it was good from what I remember ...it was expensive then but now there's a cost of living crisis here and everything is sky rocketing.

In Australia we still have a few American diner style Hungry Jacks (we dont have burger king here, it's Hungry jacks, but same same thing). But I think 90% of them have already done so or are in the process of updating the insides to look like the US style in this video. As the the burgers, you should have gotten the whopper with cheese, it changes it a lot I think, from kinda bland to enjoyable. I'd 100% love to try the paneer burger, looks yummy. Last thing, I wonder how affordable a Whopper meal is for the locals in india, is it something that they can get on a weekly basis or is it more so once in a while to treat yourself sorta pricing? Because when you compared the Burger King price to the local burgers, the prices seem so crazy drastic. Great video as always!

Hey Karl! So yeah, I totally hear what you are saying about the weirdness of the impossible meat. For me, growing up, I ate a lot of beef and like the flavor. Of all the livestock, cows produce the most methane, a harmful gas that contributes to global warming. Products from Impossible and Beyond Meat fill the void of providing a beef alternative (when I want to have the taste) without contributing to the big beef industry. I think that's probably those companies target market, folks looking for a beef alternative, likely due to environmental reasons.

Yes, I have heard the same about goat being the most eaten meat worldwide.. Its sure telling how we all have aquired tastes based on what we grew up eating! I personally did not grow up eating lamb, sheep, or goat and after trying them both several times as an adult despite wanting to, I honestly cant stand the taste of either. Growing up we had chicken, beef, pork, and fish and thats what I like.. I have a close friend who grew up in a different country and was raised mostly on lamb that hates beef and can tolerate chicken.. Its funny cuz when me and him have talked about our differing tastes, the awful way I describe both lamb and goat tasting to me is exactly the same way he describes beef... Theres a ton of food I never had as a child that I discovered and enjoy as an adult, but for some reason it seems when it comes to meat, it really is a preferance based solely on what you grew up eating.

I’m in the Northern Poconos and haven’t been to a Fast Food place in probably 40yrs. Then again, I have always preferred my multicultural, multinational home made food. After traveling the world when I was younger with my kids; I’ll take my biryani, Kichari, Channa Masala, Chamorro BBQ (S. Pacific), my “sisters” many Vietnamese dishes, Potato-Leek soup from outside Quito; Caribbean blackened fish, Soul food from our hometown, Irish corned beef and cabbage, and mostly, my late Son’s MANY favorites from China…which I make almost daily bc his friends are always sending me pictures and recipes. The night before he died, we talked for hours while he cooked a huge international feast-mostly Nepali, Chinese and South Pacific foods for friends in our hometown down South (N Florida). All 3 of my kids and my stepdaughter love to cook and rarely go to Fast Food places…except my younger daughter who ALWAYS goes to Whataburger, the only one left, in our hometown when she visits. As for beggars…AND the prices. With inflation this bad I’m sure restaurants have also had to raise their prices. I’ve been to Jacks in Nashville in about 2000. There was NOTHING over $10 on their menu. My freeze dried strawberries, as an example, cost me $6.99 4-5 months ago. Yesterday? $14.99. And people in the streets? Rents have skyrocketed and so is poverty and our homeless population. I’m older, legally blind and in a wheelchair or walker. I’m being evicted bc I can’t afford my rent DOUBLING …it’s actually more than doubled over the past year. We aren’t finding ANYPLACE near either of my girls that I can afford on Social Security. Luckily, being old and disabled gives me a longer period of time before they can kick me out in the street.

Karl, i am finding a lot of the Indian science fiction movies like Gayab (invisible) and Dobaara (on Netflix) have been done very well. Whilst you have vlogged a lot about your travels I notice you have not mentioned the indian movie industry much and that is a huge industry with some great movies, could you do a video on your thoughts on indian movies?

Gimme that paneer burger! :) Haha I’d love if that came here to America 🔥 Would totally try. I used to eat more meat, but with age, health concerns in mind, etc., I tend to do more veg these days. I still love me a good burger, just not all the time ;) Fast food, in general, seems to suck most of the time anymore it seems. My local BKs are sh*t 🤣 How long will you be in the States, Karl? You’re sooo close to my home state of Virginia. We have a thriving Indian community in Northern Virginia and Washington DC. I hope you’ll consider swinging up this way before returning home, you would like it here I think. Tons of global cuisines, Indian included, and Indian-owned/operated places. We’re all one big melting pot here 💕

My Dad loves BK for some reason. My Cousin used to work there then started working at the McDonald's across the street. My husband and I prefer McDonald's. I never tried Burger King or McDonald's in India, but I have had burger king in Japan and yeah, I think it was definitely better there than in the U.S. I have had KFC in India and it was really good, never had KFC in the U.S.

Sadly, Burger King here in the U.S. is not very good. Locations continue to close. The one nearest to where I live closed many years ago and became a McDonald's, and one that I pass on my way to work became a Wendy's. The Burger King nearest to my office became a Starbuck's Drive-Thru. As you said in the video, there are so many places to eat that are better than BK.
