Sorry I missed ya last week! I had plans to put together a video but alas, the universe had other plans. In today's episode, I head into a snowstorm where I face powerful winds and heavy snowfall, all the while staying warm & cozy in my trustee camper.
Sit back, grab a coffee, grab a beer, and enjoy the video!

for this guy this might seem like a crappy snowed in situation but for me , living a life that is extremely hectic and honestly unlivable , the concept of just hunkering down like this and getting covered in snow for a while ,letting nature have some control over my life, just has a kind of romance to me. I would love to be stuck in a warm comfortable nest like that for a few days

I think overall it was a pretty adventurous trip, although you might want to be careful when you're walking around with the camera to 𝙉𝙊𝙏 have some kind of an injury where you can't get back to the camper. Your cooking is ALWAYS superlative, either you're a natural, or you were a chef at one time...because you certainly know how to make great meals. Nice to have a cozy camper!!With minimal modifications, it's going to be exactly what you want. I like the old backsplash you put up in the slumber queen, you might want to put something like that up again. Also, don't know if you've ever seen these, but there's some kind of a little tarp that attaches to the side mirrors that can stretch across your windshield and helps to avert the scraping and snow removal you go through on a regular basis while in that terrain. Be safe, and hope you and everyone has a nice New Years.

That ribeye looked amazing. Can’t go wrong with butter and garlic. 🤩 Also happy to see you using a cloth instead of disposable (not recyclable) wipes for cleaning. You can get little tablets that dissolve in water to make a cleaning solution refill to keep using that spray bottle and also make your life easier not having to haul more liquids. Better for the environment in so many ways. 💚♻️

Nothing wrong with boil in bag rice. Great for camping. We are hard core “rice aficionados”, but have used BIB rice for convenient in-a-pinch use. With a tasty stir fry the BIB style rice will suffice, but yeah, real rice fry’s sooo much better. Your adventures are so down to earth and very grounding to view. Stay safe. Blizzard hiking conditions are awe inspiring but can be dangerous if you get turned around. Happy 2023!

@firstchoicephoto

To reduce the grease splatter get yourself a splatter screen, great for steaks & bacon. Around here they are $5. Also when parking in a place that you may get a large dump of snow (or even may have to deal with many other issues) always back in. Getting moving in deep snow is the key to getting out and if you would have gotten more snow being able to pull out and just keep going is crucial. My Dad drilled that in from his time in the military logistics. Even at a shopping mall you backed in to have your vehicle pointed so you can drive out. Has helped many times!

Enjoyed the video! The snow on the evergreens has a timeless beauty to it. But as a life long resident of the PNW and former logger one thing that concerned me 😮was seeing you out for a walk with the wind whipping the trees, as you worried about your camera, I was thinking about your safety. The big limbs on those beautiful evergreens can snap off without warning especially with those gusty winds. They are called ‘widow makers’ for good reason. Be careful out there! Me and nearly 100,000 others are wanting to see more of your videos for many years to come. 😊

Bravo for the cleanup!! When you say it's challenging to keep a small space clean, you have to wonder when you see small spaces so filthy & cluttered. I'm thinking, one pan, one plate, one spatula, one fork, how hard is it to keep it clean, right? Then I see vids like "Help, I'm buried alive in my camper" and it's got 50 of everything for one person😮. We're venturing into doing more road traveling year round, esp into the cooler/colder months and looking into simple one pot/skillet meals and you've given us quite a few ideas to build on from your stir fry. No waste, efficient, filling & nutritious. Thanks for the video. ~Best to all

Jonathan, I see that your flame on your stove top is yellow and not blue. So your not going to get the BTU output that you should. This usually happen if you have low presser either from your propane bottle running out or you may want to check the age of your regulator. If only one burner is like that then check the orifice for that one burner it could need cleaning.

All the rain would be miserable for me... I like the big skies I like the sunshine... Even like the winter time.. as long as I can stay warm... Studying the desert... Those were great years... The ruins of Boaz working Solomon was born and the town where he was from.. it's just great 👍 down in the Mojave desert there used to be a Sea called the molten sea.. Used to also be the Sea of Cortez it went all the way up bullhead City was part of the Sea of Cortez.. And the great basin's of Nevada still had water in them back then

In situations like this, best to just hunker down, stay safe, warm, cook some food and if you have enough provisions, comfortable clothes, warmth, ride out the storm, rest and tomorrow's another day... good to get out of one's comfort zone if only for a short time, sometimes out of neccesity...

The food looks great- don't feel like you're "cheating" on making your meals. I admire you for being our there in that weather - you have big balls.

Love this. I'm buying a truck and camper soon and will be living out of that when my apt lease ends in a few months. All my work is done remotely, so i plan to just travel around with my dog for the next 6-12 months. Absolutely can't wait for situations like this. So peaceful.

Let me give you some advice campers are not intended to live in.

@@MrWislon-se3onI think it's because of the living situation with financially is really hard so a lot of people are starting to go to like campers as a way to accommodate living . But the RV would be the best way to go . But I do agree this could be temporary living not permanent.

Fun video Jonathan, happy new year!🎉 I guess if you’ve got internet and cel service you can’t get into too much trouble. Wouldn’t want you to disappear and get found in April or something. It’s happened but mostly in pre-cellphone days.
